County Surveyor Mike Berry was awarded the Oregon Association of County Engineers and Surveyors (OACES) "Surveyor of the Year" award at the Association of Oregon Counties fall conference held in Eugene. The Surveyor of the Year award is presented to a member of OACES for valuable contributions to the Association and innovation and achievement in the field of land surveying. The selection of the recipient for the award is made by the OACES awards committee composed of the president, past president, and previous years award recipient. Mike was honored with this award for his dedication and service to the OACES organization. Mike has made numerous presentations at OACES meetings and conferences over the past year. Mike is recognized state-wide for the active role he takes networking with his peers and has become a well respected source of information and answers to problems faced by surveyors in the process of their daily work.
I concur with their award for Mike. A top notch surveyor and man among men.
And he has some Okie ties. 🙂

This award is, of course, as much of a recognition of my co-workers as it is me. They’re the ones that keep me on my toes by asking the hard questions, pushing the envelope and striving for excellence. I’m lucky to work with the crew at the county and the local private surveyors that we serve.
