Any recommendations?

I have two 22" monitors. I wouldn't mind if they were bigger.

I have 2- 23" I think that's about right for me - that's a lot of desktop, on the computer and FOR the computer...
Samsung LED Series 2 - 230 are moderately priced

I use a Samsung 32in SmartTV as a monitor. The graphics are not up to that of a regular computer monitor. It is used mainly to view movies an such.
I have 2 - 20in monitors and a 23in for the middle. Bigger would be nice.
2-22". Just right for me
2 24" monitors and the 17" display on the laptop.
24" & 17"
24 & 27
The 24 is a business HP, 27 Acer and not as nice as HP.
27 is principal one.
It is very nice to do Cad work on large monitor.
Word an overkill.
The Acer can be set up to create zones within the monitor serving as unique windows for programs.
I've never bothered with that.
Thin bezels are important if you want to but them together. My 2 bobs worth.
Corey,
Next time you are in the Rock, stop by and test drive a few multiple monitor setups.
We could catch up on current events and the results of my FOI request from the AGIO (Survey Division) about their reduction of personnel.

Two 27" Dells with 1/2" bezels. Others in the office run three 21", with one turned vertical for PDFs. I have trouble working from home on a single monitor now.
Two 22" flanking a 34" curved. All Samsung running HDMI on all three. LOTS of real estate.
Two 27" are great for me.
One 20 inch, I probably need to learn how to multitask. Just haven't gone to multiple screens yet. Actually I had two for a time but one died.
two 27" (2160x1440) in landscape and one 17" (1440x900) in portrait, this way I have 6020x1440 for large screen captures!
p.s. the 17" in portrait is very nice for C3D prospector window.

I would have a very hard time going back to one monitor after having used two.

You might want to consider ultrawide 21:9 proportion monitors. I would fancy a pair of them in 29" if I was starting again.
Whatever you decide get the exact same model, otherwise its wonky when going from one screen to the next
maximiize windows go of the edge of the screen etc
I use a 34 for my cad work, its it awesome
It's hard to imagine a pair of screens too big. But I saw an architect try out a 48" monitor once. That was too big for desktop use and he sent it back.
Many times I've used the laptop screen as one monitor and an external monitor as the second. That was driven by economics but it worked fine. The bigger the better up to a point.
To follow Mark Mayer, I think one monitor might actually be the best setup. Two monitor set ups are usually the result of having "extra" monitors around. Having one large monitor gets rid of having to "drag" across setups and should result in smoother operation. I would love two have one large screen. The downside is the cost, but if you are buying them upfront and not scavenging from existing sources then the price has to be similar-I would go with the one large setup. The only real disadvantage I see is that they can not be turned in towards each other.
Having Civil3 D open on a 48" sounds awesome.
