3.89 this morning and every bay was full with a car of truck filling up.?ÿ As I was pumping the tanker was hooking up the hose to fill the storage tank, using his 16 foot rod to measure the tank.
@holy-cow Having come from a farming family and still have close relatives who farm that HURTS!!?ÿ Farming has been a boom or bust business for years and I believe it's getting worse.?ÿ The days of the "small" family farm are gone.?ÿ With the cost of fuel, fertilizer, seeds and equipment (don't even count the cost of labor) it is killing the small guy.?ÿ As the fellow said, "Farming is the only business where you buy retail, sell wholesale, and pay shipping both ways."
My thoughts and prayers are with the farmers, especially now.
I drove Route 95 from Boston to Gainesville, well Jacksonville at the beginning of February. ?ÿNo surprise the highest prices were at the interstate service plazas, not when I exited the interstate down south where there are no service plazas. I drove back yesterday and two times I existed the interstate in Georgia and North Carolina the prices were close to $5.00 while at the interstate plazas in Maryland and New Jersey I paid $4.25 or so. ?ÿ
Filled up diesel at 4.19 this morning on the IL side of the St. Louis metro area.?ÿ Get Upside app gave me a penny per gallon back.?ÿ I've had up to .25/gal back on that app.?ÿ It's nice!?ÿ Most of the STL area is 4.49-4.99 gal today.
$4.19 yesterday near Boston.?ÿ $88 to fill the tank. Almost had $3.97 at the costco but it seems my membership lapsed.?ÿ Found that out after waiting in line for 20 minutes.?ÿ So this is what the 70's was like...?ÿ?ÿ
No - in the 70's you waited an HOUR to find out there was no gas...

I was living in Pasadena, Texas during the gas shortage.?ÿ It was really ironic to be sitting in line at a gas station within sight of dozens of million gallon tanks full of gasoline.
@dmyhill not only that, housing costs have skyrocketed in most of California, full time workers in San Diego are sleeping in their cars in designated and fenced parking lots. The economy dependent on low wages coupled with high cost of living is a house of cards crumbling right now.
