I wasn't sure which forum category to post this in. As is often the case, a few technical flaws. However, it must have been effective as my Party Chief at the time preferred Miller High Life.

My favorite; the guy with the swinging plumb-bob, at the beginning...

When I started surveying back in the 80's the owners of the company had a cold case of Miller bottles in the fridge when we came back from the field, all summer long.

same here and then on the way home, marketing firms gave out free beer in cozies during rush hour-only in the 80's in Austin!

if not a beer, Max (city council) was hawking flowers at intersections.

Champagne of Beers is hilarious to me.?ÿ I'm not sure what to make of it... do I drink miller because I prefer champagne but I'm a working stiff who can't afford it??ÿ Or because champagne is pretentious but I'm a working stiff with exquisite tastes??ÿ Anyway, if I was making a parody of a beer commercial I think champagne of beers would be one of my top choices for a catch phrase.?ÿ ?????ÿ

In the 90ƒ??s working in Charlotte a field crew member called in to a radio host and said the crew kept a cooler full of beer in the survey van. At the end of the day they put down a couple on the drive back to the office.

I was thinking thanks just what we need. Fortunately I didnƒ??t recognize the voice.

Ah, the days before the micro-brew explosion and the tidal wave of IPA's.

I've sampled some of the micros and wasn't overwhelmed with any of them. I will say that a beer company in NY that makes the Blue Point line of beers had a real ass kicker called "Imperial Sunshine". Instead of a 3.2 or 5% alchol it's 9.6%. Three of these babies is about the same as a 12 pack of MHL. ?????ÿ

The old boss I had when I was just starting out wouldn't pass up the local bar on the way back to the office. Had to pick up a cold one for the drive.

I worked with a communication company that was an early "cell" business. Local radio contact with towers placed on high points. The main tech guy was travelling to a far flung tower and I asked him how long a drive it was. His response was; "two six packs".

Good times!!!

If they were MHL he wasn't getting drunk anyway, but he would have to stop a bunch of times.?ÿ

Being next to the state line, in the 80s we often made the trip across the river to SC. They had just changed the drinking age to 21 in GA, which left some out in the cold, so to speak. SC still had the 18 drinking age, hence the trips across the river. Black Label was THE cheap beer then. "It'll put hair on your chest".... It took several before you didn't gag on each drink.

Me. "What's the difference?"
T.C. Carroll "It's the difference between right and wrong!"

@stacy-carroll?ÿ

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carling_Black_Label

We had the reverse situation.?ÿ Kansas was 18 and Missouri was 21.?ÿ Young people from Missouri would make runs over to Kansas to legally buy our 3.2 beer.?ÿ Had a cousin in college about 15 miles from the state line.?ÿ She would load up with a car full of girls from that girls-only college to make the run.?ÿ A goal was to get it all consumed before they got back.
