Now that the U.S. government is shut down OPUS is not working. Is there an alternative?

There is also the Canadian System. I can't recall the acronym.  In Oregon there is the ORGN real time network. Lots of states have such things.

Assuming that you have a base/rover pair and the ability to resolve static vectors it shouldn't be too much trouble to run a vector from some point you have previously OPUS'd.

I have two static receivers. The AUSPOS site was easy but the coordinates are ITRF not NAD83. When I tried an old data file that had an OPUS solution the vector was the same but the coordinates shifted north about 4 feet.

If you’re a Trimble user use the centerpoint or what ever it’s called . It will still work. Or make friends with someone who is a Trimble user….I poked around a bit it looks like The cors data is still accessible depending on when you burned your sessions. You can download load some of those and post process it yourself…

Just Google Trimble center point rtx.  Register an account it’s free. Make sure to read what antenna models and such are supported.  A lot of different brands are in the list.  If that works for you, you can use that just like OPUS.  I have compared it to OPUS in my area for the last 4 to 5 years so most of VA some in NC. and GA. The differences were minuscule in results from same data sets. You will receive an email back with 2 files. 1 is an xml which allows for the direct import into TBC. The other is a pdf and will have LAT LONG HT. No northing easting elevation so you can use NCAT or if your software allows it then key it in and project it to your system and zone that’s needed.

I'm not using Trimble except for a small hand-held unit that allows me to check for gross errors.

I tried the Canadian Spatial Reference System (CSRS) and I like it.

It's nice that it reads my RINEX file and can read the antenna type and height above the mark so that I don't have to enter it.

Also, I can use GNSS. I was under the impression that AUSPOS was GPS only.

AUSPOS does not use the Precise Point Positioning (PPP) computation strategy.
Dual-frequency measurements from GPS L1 and L2 signals are required. Measurements from all other GNSS constellations, including Galileo (E). Beidou (C), GLONASS (R), QZSS (J), are ignored during processing

The Canadian service can also transform from ITRF to NAD83(2011).

I like Auspos too.  The Canadian service only holds the solutions for a limited timeframe, so you shouldn't wait to access the solution using the link they send you.

You can use Trimble even if your receivers and antennas are not Trimble.  FYI. If they are on that list. Also if you get ITRF position you can get that to NAD83. Use NCAT or hdtp but the shift is well documented so not hard. Are you in CONUS or OCONUS.

Looking at AUSPOS now.  I like the "scan" feature which reads the RINEX file for the height of the receiver and the antenna type.  But, using this feature now has me puzzled.  In the field, I entered an ARP height of 6.02 feet into Carlson.  This is equal to 1.8349 meters, but the AUSPOS service is reading 1.9051 meters from the RINEX file, what I presume to be the height which includes the phase center height above the ARP.  I've always entered the ARP height in OPUS from the nail to the flat surface on the bottom of the receiver (where it meets the pole).  I use Carlson BRx7 receivers.  So that would be 1.8349.  This would be the value that I enter for the height when using the NGS OPUS service.

When using AUSPOS, for accurate results, is it correct to simply scan the RINEX file and use the resulting height without modification?  Would this give me the same result if I entered ARP height in NGS OPUS?

whatever happened to post process your own data? I had a client who only knows OPUS for their drone flights base station, they sent me their CHC data file, I downloaded three CORS, processed in TBC, adjusted. Total time=15 minutes. 

Is this becoming a lost art?

Their file was 74 mb, would not load into centerpoint (maybe too big?).

@big-al aren't you in Massachusetts? Bob Freeman suggested the Mass DOT CORS site. It looks good to me. Other than that, I like the Canadian site.

@john-hamilton I use TBC do exactly the same thing and it's so automated compared to the old TGO days, it's surprising so many don't want to mess around with it. In times like these it can be a real butt saver.

@not-my-real-name If I remember right you're using iGage receivers. Maybe look into CHC Geomatics 2.0. You can do the exact same thing with it. Mark Silvers has some videos on doing exactly this, downloading CORS and post processing the iG9 base's data to compare with OPUS and the solution was nearly identical.
