that using the "windows" key with the numbers (not the F keys) will open the applications in the order that you have them in your taskbar!?ÿ ?ÿ I was programming a mouse and stumbled into that discovery.?ÿ

?ÿI talked to the computer tech peeps and they didn't even know that!?ÿ score one for the old guy.

Do you know the Alt+Tab one? Gives you an array of open windows/dialogs and let's you pick (OR helps you keep your sanity when you know an application is open but you can't find it)

One I use daily is the Windows Key+L...it locks your desktop

@squirl You can't tell us how to lock it and then just leave! I mean I've got more work to do. How do I unlock it?

If I can get in the habit of using it so that I remember that one, that is going to be very handy!  Thanks.

On my laptop this technique works with only the top row of numbers, not the number pad on the right side of the keyboard.

Quite a useful tool.  Thanks!

One I often use when too many open programs and looking for something on my desktop.

Windows Key + D to minimize all open windows, open them again from your task bar.

Just hit escape or wake it up and type in your password.

CTRL+Tab is similar to Alt+Tab except it tabs through the windows in the active program. So you can switch between open CAD drawings or open browser tabs.

I'm rolling with 3 monitors now which helps cut down the overlapping window nonsense.

@bstrand

I recall the days of only 1 monitor, but for the life of me, I cannot recall how we all managed it?

@cv

I think more stuff was on paper or simply didn't exist back then.  Now you have cad, data processing software, .pdf viewer, outlook, file explorer, skype/teams, google earth, etc.
