Surveyors are never on vacation, we can not stop looking for evidence.........
Something similar, the "V" shaped plate on the right is the intersection of the building lines. I don't recall if it says "property line" or "property corner".
Image is from GE street view, I've never taken a picture and haven't been in this location in at least twenty years. It is the Southeast corner of Market & Main Streets in Poughkeepsie, NY.
When I saw this I looked through my "photos" file for a picture I took several years ago. I didn't find it but will look for the backup DVD and see if I can find it. It is of a similar monument in the sidewalk in Williamsburg, Virginia. I've even got my wife noticing survey items, although she usually needs flagging to bring it to her attention.

When SWMBO forces me on a cruise (Holland America suite only) thank goodness we "park" at Little Krum Bay instead of Havensight. That way I can look for markers while walking along Veterans Drive while trying to not get killed by traffic, or worse Japanese tourists with 100 lbs of camera equipment.
Glad you're all OK.

So, she drags you, kicking and screaming, onto the boat?

How are those dogs at fishing Andy? Do they Point before they strike?

The Boxer nearly drowned herself trying to pick up a tennis ball that filled with water and sunk. She kept putting her head under water but couldn't find the ball. I had to drag up out.

Photo appeared to be missing something, so I fixed it for you!
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Nah, by the time we leave my temper tantrum over the price for a "Deluxe Neptune Suite" has subsided, and we have a great time. 😎

Here is one I found last year near the Superdome. I found one other like it, and a depression in the sidewalk where a third one was knocked out, and fresh asphalt at the fourth location. They were the fanciest I've ever found!

The happiest ( ie: most expensive ) place on Earth!
Vacation for us is often Disneyland / Disney World - and they have really nice monuments, including a well monument on Main Street USA. My wife even looks for them now. I'm sure someone has probably posted photos of Disney monuments in the past, but here are some anyway...
