Had the enjoyment of setting up on top of some rocks Friday.

A view of where I need to go to:

The path out there was only 2-3' wide:

Wow, I don't know if I could have had a point there. The heights probably would have played havoc with my nerves.

Way cool spot...I actually download one of these so as to extract location EXIF data so I could pin point it in Google Earth but alas there was no Exif data. Oregon west?

Here is the Lat & Long:
44°29'18"N
122°20'08"W

There is a 1/4 corner about 100' ENE of where I was set up. Was quite a bear to get to. We remonumented it about 10 years ago.

It was in the upper 40's and a little windy. We made it off the hill just before the rain hit on Friday and it hasn't stopped raining since.

Some pretty severe weather hit Oregon this weekend.

Now that's some pretty country. And it's about 15 miles north of my latitude line.

AWESOME SETUP.

That's one time I wouldn't mind being the I-man.

The only heights in your neck of the woods are on buildings or dozer piles.

Those are some awesome photographs.

Would you consider letting me feature one of your photo's on the cover of my next eBook? I am working on one titled "What was that formula?" which is a digital book of the most used surveying formulas.

I really would like to feature the second photo.

You can contact me directly at jcrume@cc4w.net with your thoughts.

I have featured several survey photographs on my math-series eBooks that you can view at www.cc4w.net/ebooks.html.

I always looking for awesome survey photographs for covers on future eBooks.

Jim

Great survey pic. How did you get to that point of using a TS? Did you get your baseline by GPS and now you are using the TS to turn in a ungpsable monument?

I like the story behind the story....

Great photos. I like the rock wave curling in front of the fog firs. If the 1/4 corner is 100' ENE, then it's what, about 80 feet down the hill? From GE it looks like you can see the 3 sisters to the west on a clear day.
