I have been off grid a bit Daryl style the last 10 days in northern, ID. One of the most remote and difficult access projects I have completed in the CONUS, average speed on the "good" roads is about 20-25 MPH and some of the points were 2-3 hours to drive to them from base camp, a helicopter would of been useful as nothing was more than about 8.5 miles from our base camp...

Idaho Project. For the Google Earth curious, some of the photos have the Lat/Long listed.

Great photos. Seeing you walking to a point brings back memories of Cove Palisades, back when our hair was a little less grey. You need a real truck like the old Land Rover.

Nice photos. The critter track looks like a coyote, due to the small nail marks. If the width and length of the track was around 4 - 5 inches, I would say a wolf. I've switched from a .22 cal (for a shot to the kneecap of the rear chainman) to a Taurus Judge (solo GPS work) to better serve the purpose.

The photo is deceiving, that was taken out the window of the truck, so probably at a distance of 4-5 feet looking down at the ground, it looked bigger than any coyte track I have seen AND some local loggers told me there was some wolf in that area, having never seen a wolf in the wild I don't really know but it makes for a better story to tell the grandkids!

I've seen a wolf when I was horse back riding near Yellow Stone. To be honest to my untrained eye it looked a lot like a coyote, but you could tell it was bigger.

Thanks for sharing the pictures and it looks like your Cummins is still chugging along.

Most likely a wolf track. They are everywhere up here. We see tracks almost everytime we're in a mountainous area. While you are a bit south of where I am, I am sure they are there. They are taking over big time, it's a shame.
