Table A, Item 15 has "remote sensing" listed, but what has that turned into over the years?

With integrated technology now available when using equipment like the Trimble SX12 are you certifying to Item 15 when using total stations that can also do terrestrial scans? Are you certifying to Item 15 when using a stand-alone terrestrial scanner? What about when you take a prism less shot? What if you scan, just to make sure the field guys don't need to return? Are you only using it for certifying photogrammetry and mobile scanning?

I'm just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this one and maybe how they have changed over the years.

Im going to posit that "remote Sensing" is applicable to aerial and or satellite photography, you could argue SAR from both too, but if youre on the ground at the site scanning or driving a Robotic Total Station to DR the buildings and structures etc, thats a direct measurement, not remote. oure actually there with the devices, as opposed to using the data that was flown over and processed independent of your input.

I've always taken that to mean that when you're doing the CAD and find that an area of topo wasn't shot and there are 3 points that locate "WM" at the property line, you sit back, close your eyes and take a deep breathe to determine remotely how you're going to fill in those data gaps...
