Years ago I had a utility for transfering static observation files off a Hiper ... I can't recall what it was called or how I got it. It used the 9-pin com port and worked with the Hiper DC cable. Does anyone have a link to download this utility. Thanks.
I use PCCDU to download our Hipers.
You still can get it from http://www.topconsupport.com/
Awesome, thanks. I already have PCCDU on my computer, to adjust settings, I didn't realize it could download files.
I can also email it to you.
Maybe TRU a/k/a Topcon Receiver Utility, also available from the Topcon site.

TRU works much better for transferring files than PC-CDU. Better interface, anyway. Runs well on Win7 64bit.

Thank you!
So sick of running a virtual PC just to get static files off the units. Will try this program on Windows 7 next time.
Next to start using Carlson to transfer off the Geo 600Pro...
I should add that, while TRU works fine, Topcon hasn't released a 64 bit driver for the USB cable connection. You'll still have to use the serial>usb adapter, but that works flawlessly.
I don't understand why a major corp like Topcon won't invest the little effort to update their usb driver. It's not like no one is using the Hipers. Come on, Topcon. Your existing customers need support, too.

The 64 bit driver was released February 2011 and was updated last year. The current version is 7.12. http://www.hayeshelp.com/downloads/Topcon/USB%20Drivers%20v7.12.zip
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
I've spent a good deal of time searching Topcon's site and have mentioned my plight to my local dealers to no avail.
Thanks to Hayes for providing the link. It really works! Talking to my Hiper with Win7 64bit and TRU software. Made my life much easier.

Tried to install the 64-bit USB TPS driver in Win8 with no luck. Installing in Win7 raises an signature error, but allows you to install anyway. Win8 attempt results in an error "The hash for the file is not present in the specified catalog file. The file is likely corrupt or the victim of tampering." "If you know the manufacturer of your device, you can visit its website and check the support section for driver software."
Apparently, Win8 isn't as forgiving as Win7?
TRU installs and runs just fine with Win8. It connects with either the bluetooth or the serial>USB just fine.

Edit: Executed a quick Google for the issue and there is a way to turn off the driver signature problem in Win8. Worked like a charm. I can now use the Win7 64bit TPS USB driver and connect my Topcon Hiper to my Win8 machine using the USB cable.
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Yes, Windows 8 is a squirrelly creature.
I'm loading up a new computer as well. Is Tools cooperating on Win 7 64bit machines now?
Yes, the current version is 8.2.3
Thank You! Thank You! Thank You!
Really appreciate you sharing how to get around the driver install issues. After following the instructions, my USB cable for my GR3's isn't worthless, and static file downloads won't take hours.
