I was emailed this photo this morning.
The operator works for the construction company NOT a surveying firm.

Well....the building well give him something to lean the GPS against.
I, glad to see he has it on a nice tall range pole; that really helps with multi-path
Ach du lieber Gott!
If he's on the South side of the building, he'll be fine:-D

As fattiretom pointed out in another thread, if he can get initialized he will get positions that will likely be "good enough" for whatever they are doing. But the chances are great that he will stand there for a very long time waiting for that initialization to occur.
Other three guys standing around waiting..."Well?"
The problem with that is that guys like that don't know what "good enough" is. They see a number and think that its perfect all the time.
Back in August I had the pleasure of watching a contractor walk INSIDE UNDER A ROOF with a unit. I don't know what he was getting positions on. Also, dozer operators on the same site using gnss receivers were off on grade about 2.00' for a length of 800'. 800' also happened to be the length of the building blocking them from the sky as seen above.
WOW!
Hurry Bill! Run up to that wall and grab a shot before you lose your fix!
"The anchor bolts go right HERE....No, wait a minute, right HERE....Nope, wait......"
If he's in Tasmania, he better be on the north side!;-)
combine the nice straight line of the building with a decent measuring tape for a quicker and more accurate setting out method!
> "The anchor bolts go right HERE....No, wait a minute, right HERE....Nope, wait......"
Does anyone see the poignant irony that someone with the moniker "Target Locked" would say that? 😀
Do those shorts have lace on them?
You guys are just jealous of the safety attire.:-P
The second one from the left looks like he's peeing on the wall. 😉
No - actually if you look closely, there is another man kneeling on the ground in front of him.
That was my thoughts. The bloke with the pole.
I've used that pose to 'hide' the fact I'm actually just relieving myself. Not in such close confines though
I often wonder what they expect from their 'mm precision' construction equipment!
N.M.
maybe it's an aussie thing
