Now that Sokkia is Topcon and the 2700ISX has received the "we no longer service this item" award do any of you fellow surveyors know of a repair facility that will work on these very serviceable units? One of our receivers will no longer indicate that it is being charged. We know the problem rests inside the receiver as we can swap chargers and cables with our other units and charging occurs normally. We also know that the batteries are not, in fact, receiving a charge, nor will swapping good batteries help.

Thanks in advance for any help. Mike

Mike

I've been waiting for a reply to your post as I've used these receivers for 6 years now and no problems that needed a repair so far. I don't know of a repair facility (I'm in the UK). Your post got me thinking about solutions to this problem. Not a repair, but another option would be to buy an external battery and plug it in when using the receiver. Not ideal, but it would be easier than taking the batteries out of the faulty receiver and charging them in the ok receiver (assuming you have base and rover).

Thanks Artie - our problem with using the external power supply (which we used to use until the port stopped working) is that the external battery plugs into the same port as the charger. That port needs repairing and there seems to be no one out there that works on these anymore.

Looks like we all invest in future boat anchors when we spend lots of $$$$$$$ for these systems. It's a great business...

Appreciate your thoughts, Mike
