But that would not be the same as inspecting the corner up close and personal-like. And of course, we must paw around for the rotted stake in the middle of the stone pile to confirm that we are right :grinning:

Maybe the HD photos from the Drone will show those details.

Another thought, Styrofoam pvc pipe insulators. Duck tape them around the barb wire. Might be able to go between top of fence and bottom of barb wire. Course it might be harder to find pipe insulators in TX than around here:)

Thats how it's done,,,,,,,,do it all the time,,,,,

I keep fencing pliers in the truck. Fence work is one my last resorts though. What is also ever present in my truck is my chain-cutters and a dozen (make that 11, I used one last week) Master padlocks. Cutting a link out of a chain to put your own lock in is standard procedure here....as long as you have business (legal) inside there.

I usually drop a key off to the property owner. I have left keys with my business card in the mailbox also.

Another thing that would work across the top barbed wire is a hunk of carpeting.

Fortunately I don't have too many fences to cross and I'll usually elect to go around, but in a pinch....
a light weight aluminum extension ladder that can easily be separated into two pieces would be my go to I think, that and a section of canvas to toss over any barbed wire. Separate the ladder into the two components and rest the one half against the canvas thrown over the top and position the second segment on the other side. A bit of cordage to lash the two together at the apex so they don't slip apart and over you go. Easy-peasy, no fuss, no messy repairs.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

I use a moving blanket; both also come in handy for several other uses...

Yes, if you don't check and have it installed incorrectly it will slip. There is an indention on the bottom that the studs on the front of the t-post slip into. When I first got it, I had an I-man put it on wrong and it slipped. It has never slipped on me in 10+ years.

Given the evidence presented by Kent the fence is 8' tall and the ground is rock. In all his super-powered abilities Kent failed to describe the posts.

Although most places don't carry them, there are 10' t-posts available. I don't think I would want to use a "t-stepper" on such a precarious post if it is indeed a t-post at all. Kent also balked at digging under the fence due to the density of the in situ grade material. I guess the posts (whatever they're made of) were placed in the impervious grade prior to the actual cooling of the earth's mantel surface. He always brags about how old junk is down there...;)

I dont cut a fence, I just open it enough to get through, a winch, 4-wheeler, some simple tools does that in a couple of minutes, then the fence looks the same when i leave

I didn't even need an 8' fence a few months ago...a 60" pipe stock gate from Farm & Fleet did me in...
