Just got a new laptop with Windows 8. I can get a free update of Windows 10. I usually wait until the users finish the Beta Testing for Windows updates. What is the consensus about how Windows 10 is performing at this point? I have read the threads about problems with Trimble. Any other issues?

Other than Trimble problems, I have a password program called RoboForm that will not run in Edge which is the replacement for IE Explorer but it isn't a problem because I can still run IE Explorer.

I would wait until W10 matures. I suspect that there will be massive updates and changes over then next two or three months (or years).
I have never used W8. If I had a device with W8 or W10 on it I would purchase a Retail version of W7 and install that.

Retail = can install on other devices or change the hardware and still have a viable system.
OEM version (cheaper) is a one time install, on one device, with near zero hardware changes.

I have a couple of computers running windows 10 and had only one issue with application fonts being fuzzy. This problem only occurs when working on high resolution monitors. The fix requires finding the .exe and right clicking for the properties, compatibility tab, click 'disable display scaling on high DPI settings'. Other than that 10 is showing good stability and downward compatibility.

I have a new computer with Windows 10! I should have just retired!
The usual issues with learning new software and using it enough to not spend time searching for simple things, like how to print to various printers.
The biggest issue is that Windows 10 does not support Windows Mobile Device which means I cannot upload and download a TSC3 at my computer. At least, I haven't figured it out yet. Microsoft apparently does not intend to correct this either. Maybe Trimble will come up with a solution.

You just made me very nervous. I upgraded to W10 yesterday. It was a simple and easy thing to do.
I just plugged in the TSC3 and mobile device center popped up just like it did on the previous operating system.

Vern, When I plug in a TSC3 the WMDC does pop up sometimes but then everything just stops! I have spent a couple weeks researching this issue with Trimble, MS and our local computer guru with no progress. I wish you could tell me what is different with our systems.
My system is on a new computer and not an upgrade so that is one obvious difference.

When the cable fails on windows 8 and 10 I have always had success using the Bluetooth connection to my pc and my sp3. After you initiate the connection (pairing), it will automatically open the connection center.
