It seems to have gotten a little slow in this forum lately, so trying to start a little conversation.?ÿ I was having problems with my mouse buttons double clicking on its own, and I knew if I asked about a replacement that I'd probably be told to dig through the box of mice in the storage room, so I decided to treat myself to a new office mouse.?ÿ Of course you can't use an old keyboard with a new mouse, so I splurged and got a new keyboard also.

I decided on the Logitech MX Ergo Plus for a mouse, and a Logitech K780 for a keyboard.?ÿ I've only had them for a couple of days, but I am absolutely loving both of these so far.?ÿ The mouse is an ergonomic trackball.?ÿ I hadn't used one in a while but now I'm wondering why I drifted away from them.?ÿ I didn't realize they weren't really a thing any more, as the office young 'uns didn't even know what I was talking about when I mentioned a trackball.?ÿ Some reviewers had complained about too many buttons, but I almost wish I had more buttons.?ÿ I've already mapped a few things to the available buttons and run out of room for anything more.?ÿ It made me remember the days of having a 16 button puck with assigned commands.?ÿ I didn't realize that I might ever miss that!

The keyboard feels very nice. I wish it had a little more tilt to it, but other than that I am impressed.?ÿ The keys have a very nice feel, and I'm digging the round keys instead of square keys.?ÿ Both peripherals are wireless and multi-device.?ÿ The mouse can pair with two devices, and the keyboard with three.?ÿ I paired the keyboard with my phone, and this keyboard has a little slot to hold your phone and/or tablet, so I can set my phone there and swap back and forth between the two devices easily.?ÿ Since they both use the same USB receiver, I have an extra one that I'm sure I will secretly plug in to someone else's computer so I can cause a little mischief!

I recently ditched a wireless mouse and keyboard because the mouse was too uneven on the screen. The cursor would hang while trying to slide it over, then suddenly start moving.

That Logitech unit looks pretty slick. I've never used a trackball, and wonder if it would be better with my dual screen setup. Only problem, it looks like they only make a right-hand version. I'm right-handed, but I trained myself to use the mouse with the left, so my right would be free to scribble notes or type on the number pad.

I've been using wireless Logitech mice for years but recently I had to replace the wired keyboard that came with this computer, so I got a Logitech wireless keyboard mouse combination on one USB. As far as mice go I would sooner have a digitizer board with a 16 button puck. With that I could really fly, but then maybe my brain was faster.

I never cared for a trackball but worked in an office for a few years where that was all they had. They had an older family member come in on the?ÿ weekends and do office cleanup. She liked to make the desks shine and used a spray wax from time to time. Engineers and draftsman would be smiling on those Monday mornings when everybody had to take their trackballs apart and and clean the wax off the ball before they could get any work done. She was too kind a lady for anyone to ever mention it to her.

I kept a coworker tied up for months.?ÿ I didn't do it every day. (I was using the old mouse and keyboard)?ÿ Usually about once a week when he was stressed.?ÿ The last time I did it, he jumped up and told the entire office that his computer was possessed and left for the day.?ÿ

Even better is VPN, where you can take control of a computer in another part of the office, even in another city if it's on the same network. Then you see the screen as well. BTW - It can be used for good as well.

I once worked in an office where the boss preferred a trackball. So I was obliged to work with a trackball for about a year. I never did quite warm up to it. Good, perhaps, for the small movements. Not so much for screenwide. I finally just went out and bought a mouse. Submitted the expense and got reimbursed - after some minor grumbling.

I use a Logitech MX Master 2S wireless mouse and a wired Logitech Illuminated Keyboard.?ÿ I really like them both.?ÿ The keyboard looks cool with the illumination and the keys are short with very short strokes which I feel like speeds up my typing.?ÿ?ÿThe key strokes are also very quiet.?ÿ The mouse is physically bigger than most which makes it fit my hand better and it has an intuitive scroll wheel meaning if you scroll slow you get the stepper clicks but if you spin it fast it frees up and spins like on bearings.?ÿ I can scroll to the bottom of a 10 page document in a second.?ÿ Lots of the newer mice have the free wheel option but it's either one or the other and you have to hit a button to change it back and forth.?ÿ I like the way it's intuitive and I don't have to manually switch because I like the stepper clicks when zooming in CAD but the free wheel option when scrolling PDF's or web pages.?ÿ

You are correct.  There is no left-hand version of this mouse.

I need to try to remember to try this out with my scroll wheel tomorrow.  Not sure if mine works the same, but I can see how that would be very handy.  I know I do have a button on mine that toggles to what Logitech calls "precise movement" with the trackball, but not sure of a button for the scroll wheel.

I bet it's there, should be an up/down toggle button right behind the wheel.  I think most newer Logi mice have them now.  I switched to the wired keyboard because I was experiencing a slightly perceptible latency with the wireless on key strokes.  I'm a fast typer and of the age where I still use some keyboard commands while drafting.  Half the time when I keyed DI for distance it would only read D and take me to the dimension settings dialog.  Super frustrating!

I didn't have a button for it, but I figured out that if I click hold the wheel, then spin the trackball, it will keep scrolling until I release the wheel. I like that. Thanks for the great tip!

It's funny you mention that about your keyboard. I was having that exact same issue with my wired keyboard. For some reason it would not recognize my second character a lot of times. I'd get the dimension settings instead of distance, the circle command instead of copy, redraw instead of rotate, etc. I'm not getting that now. I changed my aliases for some commands to be just one character, but had to live with some others. So far no issues with this keyboard.

The wireless setup at home was acting up and I was about to pop for a new setup. But first I unplugged the USB and reinserted it and voila! It works again. I blame it on the Windows updates which seem to be every few weeks of late.?ÿ

I chose Logitech for my first personal computer when they had a rollerball and still have several leftover new ones in the drawer and really like their?ÿ approach to the wireless mouse and keyboard setup.

One time setup and it keeps all the settings as you move from one computer up to the next by simply plugging in the usb controller.

Most of the office was.  The guy that got pranked had recently moved from a cad tech position to a field supervisor position.  He was only in the office a few times a month.  When he blew up, most of the office did as well.  I had a few co-workers come by my office red faced from trying not to laugh.

That was a great place to work for a while.

I've been using the MX Master on my workstation and MX Anywhere on my Surface for a couple of years now.  I really like them with one exceptions.  For some reason, the design gurus at Logitech opted to swap the way the roller wheel function on the two.  For the master, the roller becomes the middle button with a separate button to activate the free spin.  On the Anywhere pressing the scroll wheel activates the free spin and it has separate middle button.  Not a real big deal, but still seems like a series lack of design thought.
