Carlson's Intellicad is a winner.?ÿ I dropped ACAD completely.?ÿ Latest version is even better and for last two years it has been at least as stable as ACAD.

Loads quickly, stable,?ÿ fast, FREE, Carlson is NOT arrogant, doesn't deny bugs (although there are remarkably few), and support is the best on the planet for Intellicad and Carlson.?ÿ I was happy not to have to pay the annual fee to ACAD, and have never looked back.?ÿ Kudos to Carlson and their great products.

The software is designed by people who know about the practice of engineering and surveying, and they know how it should be used.?ÿ

Many thanks to Carlson for such a great line of products.?ÿ My only fear is that one day someone might buy them out.?ÿ If that happens, I hope it is after I retire!!!

I really like Carlson survey, although I do not use it day to day (don't do much CAD).

But, I have always had issues with serial number, licensing, etc. I have a network license, and have had a lot of difficulty with it. Right now I cannot figure out what the serial number is to use for maintenance renewal. Aggravating. I sent an email but it got bounced back. Going to try a different address

Glad to see other people enjoy using Carlson as much as I do.

We have always had good support from Carlson and just upgraded our two copies of Carlson Survey to the new 2019 Version with Icad 9.0.?ÿ No problems yet, and we have a year of maintenance included when we upgraded. (Upgraded from 2014 with Icad 8.0)

"Does Carlson Survey handle point clouds?"

There is a module for that: "Carlson Point Cloud"

I sent you a demo SN by direct message. Give it a try. There are some good videos on the 'Video' tab at the above link.

I tried Microsurvey for a year. The drafting/calculation routines were abysmal, so I bought Carlson w/Intellicad. Great move. That with Field Genius in the data collector and Star Net makes a good combination.?ÿ

I'm glad to hear it has turned the corner, then.?ÿ I decided I'm not giving any more money for Civil3D.?ÿ It does some neat things, for sure.?ÿ It handles very large surfaces and point clouds with ease, but the standard drafting usability is glitchy and slow even on our upgraded machines.?ÿ Probably switching to Carlson with ICAD this year sometime if I can convince the engineers interoperability won't suffer.?ÿ LandXML has been bulletproof for years so should be good.?ÿ You can always just deliver the trilines as a layer in the data, too.
