I'm trying to connect a used Recon I bought to my Windows 7 laptop.

The Recon says Active Sync and the laptop says Windows mobile Device Center.

How do I the 2 to talk?

TIA

I just went through this. They should talk depending on how old Active Sync is on the Recon, and if the settings are correct.

Questions:

Have you previously connected the Recon to Active sync on an older computer running XP?
Are you sure your settings in WMDC are correct? (Allow connections to USB, etc.)
What version of the OS is the Recon running?

mine works. I have my desktop with windows 7 and mobile device center, and an allegro mx with activesync. must be a setting somewhere.
edit: RFC might have it, I think you gotta have AS version 4.x for it to work.

If the Recon has a newer version of Windows Mobile, go to Settings > Connections > PC Link. There is a single checkbox, if it is checked, uncheck it. If unchecked, check it. Then reconnect the cable.

If all else fails, do a hard reboot on the Recon.
