Thank you for all of the kind responses.

We lost her early this morning around 1:30. The whole thing was a fog. She was to get out of the hospital today and go home to be with her family (including her cats) until she passed. We were hoping she would be in the comfort of her own home when it happened, but it was not to be.

I'm grieving more than I thought I would. She was a part of my family for 23 years. She was tough, stubborn and feisty, but I loved her as if she were blood. No more "Window" (that was the nickname she gave me) and no more "right turn, Clyde" when giving me directions somewhere.

I am proud of my wife. She is amazing. She took great care of her Mom and it was good that she could be here to spend time with her Mom before leaving this Earth. She and her Dad catered to her every whim and despite her crankiness, you somehow knew she appreciated it.

I am very sorry to hear of Angel's mom's passing. Angel can be proud of the dedication she showed her mother in her time of need. I wish you both the best in getting through this hard time.
