Pretty sure Ive seen these before but never used them. Have to set about 6500 ft of curb stakes in the middle of a limestone roadbed thats been run over for the last 5 years. Best option I can think of is magnails. I remember seeing some plastic tabs with a hole in the end for a nail that would stand up and you can write on the upright flat part. Anybody know what Im talking about and where to get them?

Checked Berntsen or Surv-Kap?
hey Randy! Someone just posted about "hammerless stakes" down below.. I know that's not what you are looking for but it seems like it might be the same genre of supplies.
7" landscape spikes, Milwaukee m18 hammer drill with a 3/8" bit the hole will leave just enough room for a pin flag with a 4ah battery we get over 50 holes into asphalt.
Quick stakes? Put them behind the nails

Could you use railroad spikes?
Quick Stakes
Stake whiskers or stake chasers....

Usually in hard surfaces, I would just use 60d nails with flagging tied on
Limestone is tough conditions. How about a Ramset and the flags normally used for utility marking?
If you need to powder hammer like a ramses or hilt try the aluminum tumber tags, they will allow a small amount of writing. For concrete paving on hard base course we use a 30d ring shank or other suitable nail and we buy rolls of lawn chair weaving stuff cut it and nail thru it. A marker writes well, on white of course
Webbing. That's the damn word I was trying to think of
I have done similar projects.
A good supply of 2.5" magnails, 50d nails, railroad spikes and a gin pin or two will get the points in the ground.
For the lath, I have a narrow hunting hatchet that I use as a wedge with the sledgehammer to create grooves for the lath to stick in. On the points that I can't get a lath in, I just tie the lath flagging to the nail flagging.
