We have been offered a used robot for what appears to be a good deal. The surveyor that owns it bought it new and is the only person to ever setup or operate it. The robot is a Sokkia SRX3 (~8 years old) and is in excellent condition. I am not familiar with that robot at all.

Are there any known problems?

Does anyone familiar with it care to share their pros and cons?

We are a bit worried about "end of life". Anyone know how long Sokkia supports their equipment?

TIA
Stacy Carroll

We own a SRX and an SX they are good guns they seem to need to be adjusted often but if your aware of it it's not a big deal 5 minute process. I do not know about end of life. It works well with survey pro, I would assume Carlson and micro survey are fine obviously I would also assume it works well with magnet. I really like the rover top vs. a passive tracking systems.

We used 2 SRX series robots for years. The top issues are speed and adjustments. They aren't robust and will need to be treated nice. You will need patience when running set collections. That being said it may be a good choice for a small shop on a budget.
