@dougie so effectively what you're supporting is The Big bang theory with the outward direction of all the stuff at the universe going outward an hour and hour to speed of light did any typos that you might be seeing in any weird dialogue is because Google can't quite really get definitions of words while you're driving at 70 or 80 miles an hour
There's some good posts in this one.
Let them know that who you accept a position with is as important to you as who they hire is to them.
If they find that offensive walk.
Confidence is good, cocky is bad.
Be yourself.
Personally I hate canned interviews. Organic is better.
?ÿ
1. There are only two ways to get it done. Do it RIGHT or do it AGAIN.?ÿ
?ÿ
@ric-moore I always told them that Wal-Mart has interest in this area.?ÿ I always followed that up with a JK.
2.?ÿ How to communicate.
This is so damn important.?ÿ We discussed the project in the morning, what I think the situation is, what needs to get done, etc.?ÿ
If I'm not in the field, then the PC needs to let me know ASAP when things are deviating from expectations.?ÿ I don't want to hear at the end of the day that our prior control was all wiped out, but the contractor gave them a couple of coordinates and a bench mark that they then used to stake everything out.
Maybe?
I have a hard time with the Big Bang Theory; but then I'm not a scientist.
How can there be NOTHING; and then all of a sudden; EVERYTHING?
Or maybe; EVERYTHING was one thing, and then all of a sudden it was EVERYWHERE?
?ÿ
My Theory is; there was ALWAYS EVERYTHING and and there ALWAYS will be, NOTHING disappears. Where's it going to go?
Your pie chart leaves out the slice for what you know for sure that's actually wrong.
I wouldn??t want to honestly share the obscene profits I actually collect.?ÿ
Here are a couple of things in addition to those already mentioned.?ÿ
Efficient. I want things done my way. I want a thorough investigation and thorough documentation of the field evidence. But I also need the PC to keep the work moving in an efficient manner.?ÿ
Responsible. I want a PC that treats my equipment and vehicles as if they were the one who paid for it and they are the one who will pay for it??s replacement.?ÿ
Respectful. I can??t have a smarta** in the field running off clients or other employees. A PC should naturally be respectful to everyone and anyone.?ÿ
Not knowing what your work entails on a typical day, and assuming we're beyond the "I can't come in today because my dog ate my truck keys", or "my girlfriend just stopped in and I can't have today off I quit" stage,
1. Communication is key- you are my eyes and ears on site.
2. Following my written instructions for a project is critical.
3. Double check everything you do in regard to control (horizontal and vertical). Always check into the established site control multiple times per day and especially at the beginning and end of the day.
4. Treat my equipment and truck like you are the one who bought it (or will be the one to pay to replace it).
5. If something doesn't look right in the field, then trust your gut and let me know.
Good luck with interviewing your potential candidates- the pickings for good qualified people you can trust in the field right now are slim.
