Drove by a potential job today.?ÿ The fellow who called has owned this 160 acres for over thirty years and never thought to find out where his west boundary actually is located.?ÿ On one end he has the clue that it might be in line with the fence across the road.?ÿ On the other end there is absolutely nothing to provide a visible clue, however, I know there is a bar in the road.?ÿ Not much anywhere close to use as references, though.?ÿ I already know there's a bar on the other end because I used it a few years back for a job across the road.?ÿ He says he wants to build?ÿ a fence along the line.?ÿ We are step one.?ÿ Step two involves a D-8 to attempt to connect the dots we leave behind.?ÿ All local fence supply stores are out of barb wire and short on posts right now due to a large wind turbine project in the next county that has already bought everything they can get their hands on.?ÿ Hope he has deep pockets.
Sounds like a Tuesday ????

Speaking of deep pockets and shortages of building materials.... I was in HD the other night and this caught my eye. These prices can't help but put a cramp in new home construction. Beware the coming crash in something.
Existing homes are moving much faster these days.?ÿ Our title people are going nuts trying to keep up.?ÿ Like us, they tend to not overstaff the normal workload expecting such times to come along for very long.
Price per sq ft has skyrocketed. I'm glad I have my place paid for.?ÿ
I recently bought a half-sheet of plywood for a project.?ÿ It cost about the same as a similar full sheet did in 2019.
Priced a pole barn recently.?ÿ $16 SqFt last March.?ÿ $35 SqFt 2 weeks ago.?ÿ We are going to wait.
All their employees wages doubled.?ÿ How many have doubled their fees with the increase in price of hubs and stakes?
We refinanced our home yesterday.?ÿ Interest rate of 2.375%.?ÿ If we continue paying at the current rate our home will be paid off in 5 years.?ÿ Our first home, bought in 1984, had an interest rate of about 15%.?ÿ My brother-in-law, who is in the mortgage business, has 60+ PREAPPROVED borrowers who cannot find homes to purchase.

1/2" sheet of plywood is $70 locally. Probably hit $150+ as soon as Hurricane season starts. ?????ÿ
@norman-oklahoma I was talking to one of the builders I do work for yesterday and new stick built homes are running $300 and up a square foot in the Asheville, NC area and they can't build them fast enough.
Maybe they are just in a hurry to finish and unload them before the music stops. We just lived through an overheated market blowing up, and the aftermath, 13 years ago. I don't want to do that again.?ÿ ?ÿ
