A few minutes ago I handled a call from a good, repeat client relative to a tract she said I surveyed last year.?ÿ So I pulled up the one from October 2020 and as we compared notes it became obvious that was not the correct survey.?ÿ Finally found the right one from October 2018.?ÿ Then we could communicate.
Among the tax notices they received recently listing the 2021 valuations of their numerous properties there was a screwy one for less than one acre that made no sense to them.?ÿ Why they didn't notice this last year or the year before is beyond me.?ÿ Anyway, what had been done with the 2018 survey was to create a single tract by merging two prior tract descriptions plus a little here and there out of a much larger tract they owned.?ÿ The tax notice was for the little here and there part.?ÿ They owned all three tracts of land and had the survey done to create the single tract and then deeded that to one of their sons.?ÿ This is no problem to do in their county.?ÿ There are no built in zoning issues and crap like that to deal with.?ÿ My survey clearly showed all three original tracts and the deeds of each and, of course, then showed the total new tract and its description, which is what they put on the deed to the son.?ÿ The survey was officially recorded in 2018 just a few days following the survey, which was prior to the deed being recorded for the tract going to the son.?ÿ Somehow the mappers zonked out on this one.
Hmmmm.?ÿ Sounds like that person I used to work with might have moved to Your part of the woods......look out!
