Does anyone know of a software that will allow me to display my data collector's screen on my laptop, so I can get screen captures of certain operations?
As an alternative, a demo version of Trimble Survey Controller would fill the bill, but no such animal exists. So I'm told.
Lo tech, but a digital picture of it would do the trick. Otherwise, I'm not aware of what you're wanting in Trimble, but I'm sure you've already thought of this.

I highly recommend Pocket Controller Pro from Soti for $36 US. Well worth the nominal price. They have a similar tool for the Blackberry now available.
I've done live demos with a Trimble TSC2 connected to a total station with the TSC2 screen directed through the PC display to a projector. Awesome training and support tool.
It will do what you want and much more.

A couple of free options -
If all you need are screen captures, check out the free Ilium Software Screen Capture. It makes PNG images, which are usually more efficient than BMPs.
If you also want remote display (and remote control from the PC keyboard as well) the Soti product recommended by others works well, but MyMobiler is free.
MyMobiler will work over a Wi-Fi connection, which can be pretty handy for training situations, and will also do screen captures.
Earlier this year I worked up a document called MyMobiler for TSC2. It was written specifically for the Trimble TSC2, but should work for any Windows Mobile device. If anyone tries this, please let me know how it works for you.

I use Windows CE Remote Display. It will also let you take control of your data collector and operate it from the desktop. Its a great way to do all the software updates, alot easier to read full size.
MyMobiler is what I use to get the mobile images to my Desktop. There are several good screen capture tools for the PC and one I've seen used in the past is FastStone Capture (version 1.53 and earlier).
