Do you carry a sidearm?

If so what's your favorite?

Typically a S&W 357 Model 28 4" with plastic grips, cross-draw side holster. When I am riding my bike, I load aluminum shells to save weight.

It is old, but I feel safer when I fall off a horse or get run over because I can see how it works.

Why?

I've got my right-side arm and my left-side arm. If I was inclined to carry a gun it would be one of these little subcompact models.

I carry a Hi-Point 9mm. Nothing fancy or pretty, but cheap and can take a beating.

Machete and plumb bob. Prism pole works pretty well too.

Okay, first of all don't laugh.

I have a Beretta Model 21A in 22 Long Rifle. It is not very powerful or precise for that matter but it is very light and make one hell of a bang.

The only time I carry it is when I'm working in the bush where I might encounter cats or bear. I'm of the school that I doubt I'm going to drop a big predator with a pistol. I just want to let it know I'm there. If I think I might have to kill something I take along a rifle or a shotgun with slugs.

That is too funny! I only say that because my real favorite is a .22 Chipmunk target pistol, single shot, prefer firing shorts (remember those?) Perfect for dropping grouse and bunnies without making a big bang. Yum Yum 😀

Ruger LCR in .38 Special+P. My area allows "open carry". B-)
The alternate is a Ruger Vaquero in .45 Long Colt.
As long as it says "Ruger" on it you can't go wrong.

North American Arms 22 Mag with a carry permit. Mainly because it's so small that no one knows I am carrying. No fun to target shoot.
