Colt M1911
It's so noisy you don't have to hit 'em...the report scares the hell out of anything in the County.
Mmmmm, grouse.
This is definitely not a target pistol, I think it has about 2cm of barrel after the breech. With the LR Stinger load it makes one hell of a lot of noise. It might actually scare a bird to death.
Cold Steel Machete 24". Cold Steel calls it 'Latin Machete', but I still haven't heard it speak...
Army Outlaw in .357 with the 7.5 inch barrel. It shoots better than I can see...
Not permitted to carry where I work even though I am licensed to do so, but if I could it would be one of the following, depending on conditions: 1) Ruger SP101, .357 Magnum; 2) SIG Pro SP2022 .40; 3) SIG P239 in .40; or 4) Ruger SRH .44 Magnum for more 'rural' work.
The only superior evidence is that which you haven't yet found.
One of the following depending on the situation.
Springfield Custom 1911 in 45acp
Glock 23 in 40s&w (I also have a 9mm conversion barrel)
Ruger Mk III in 22 lr
Smith and Wesson Airlight J Frame hammerless in 38 (the shells weigh more than the gun)
I also carry various others depending on my mood or what/distance I many need to smoke something.
Mostly while surveying the Ruger MK III in 22lr its light and quiet. I also keep a rifle in the truck.
Ruger LC9 w/cc permit (EDC)
Glock 30. In arkansas you only need the 2nd Amendment.
Keltec 9mm w/carry permit.
I carry it in the front pocket of my vest in some places. Other times it might stay at the house. It just depends on where I am working.
I don't carry a lead propulsion device but if I did it would be a 45 auto.
Of all the pistol-type lead propulsion devices I have operated towards a target, I liked that one the best. No one is getting up after being hit by that thing and it sounds and feels impressive.
With respect to your questions:
1) yes, sometimes
2) see below 😉

Walking in the neighborhood: Ruger LCP .380
In my car: Springfield .45ACP XDs or Boberg .45ACP
Home: S&W 625 snub nose .45ACP
Most dangerous area I go to on a regular basis: campus. Even with a CCP I can't carry on campus.

Ditto on the LCP
New fav though is G42
Looks a lot bigger to me. Is it? Will it fit in a pocket holster in the rear jeans pocket? (And not show?)
I'd pee myself if you pulled that on me...
or you'd make it look like I did.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Back in the day when I worked in the back woods of British Columbia we all carried "Bear Bangers". Just a noise maker (the video doesn't really do the noise justice). I never had the opportunity need to test one on a real bear.

I don't think its a direct replacement for the LCP for concealment.
It will however fit in the back pocket barely.
It is a lot less snappy than the LCP, easier to hold and shoot, the G42 trigger is really nice.
..

I carry a flare gun for dissuading curious bears when hunting if they get too close, along with a .338 rifle. Last thing I want is shoot and wound one. Used it on Kodiak to send a bear the size of a VW bus scurrying away with his flank in flames.

LOL, 😉
I have a CWP in Fl but don't carry, I do keep one of these in the vehicle console.

Yes, it's a "Ladysmith" Titanium 38P extremely lightweight yet accurate to 25 feet or so.B-)
I used to carry a Taurus 82 4inch .38spl when I worked in the wrong neighborhoods. That was before they allowed concealed carry. Don't feel I need to now. My partner carries a Ruger LCP .380 every day with a permit.
