Hi folks i picked up a HUSKY FS/2 off of eBay and was wondering
if someone knows where I can get data collector software to install.
maybe TDS or something.

The unit is in like new condition.
and it would be nice to get it up and running.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The software disks for these were tied to the serial number of the DC. To my knowledge there's no way to load the disks for one DC onto another and get a fully functioning DC. I think you end up with a demo type situation.

Edit: What do you get when you power it up? Unless it's had a problem it's likely that the original TDS is still installed. I've worked with three of these. One Topcon branded and two Husky's, each was running a different version of TDS and the procedure to run TDS from a DOS prompt was different for each.

Hold down the power button and the F1 key and it should reboot, once you are at the c prompt type TDS.... and hope.

Stephen - Thanks for you reply

When i power it up and view the files on C:
dir = com.com, hcom.com, I.com, util.com & xL.com
+ folder. I did install the windows hcom and transferred files back and fourth.
but no survey software. I also rebooted like pin cushion said ( I WAS HOPING ) & no luck.

i guess i pulled a Homer on this one

anyhow i appreciate your help.
PS: I could write a program with quickbasic but
that would take more time than I am willing to spend.

Since I haven't held one of those units in my hands for a while, perhaps someone will refresh my memory...... do those units have a slot for a data card? If it does, TDS at one point had their program on a card which was not machine dependent. Granted, older versions of the software, but it works. I would think there may be some of those cards floating around somewhere.

A company I used to work for had those cards in PDAs and after they upgraded, I bought one from them. They may well have thrown out the ones they had left by now.....

No, they're straight internal memory with a backup battery, both soldered to the board.

we had a husky that had CG software on it. Trying to remember (been years since we ran it and sold it off years ago) but try cg at the c: prompt. I will look around and see if we have the software still.
