> Get some good trail cameras and hide them nearby.
If you take a look at Loving County, TX in Google Earth you will see that there aren't a lot of places to hide a game camera. It's the sort of place where you can watch your dog run away from you for 3 days.

Cell Service?

If that requires cell service to work then the miscreant would have to drive it about 30 miles from the control point to get in cell coverage area.

Cell Service?

No cell service required. 😉

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.

Mentone, Tx?

Couldn't be that many suspects in Loving County.

"Mentone is an census-designated place in Loving County, Texas. As the county's only community, it serves as the county seat and has a 2010 population of 19, almost one-fourth of the county's 82 people.

Mentone was until recently the least-populated county seat in the United States, but lost that distinction with the 2010 census to Gann Valley, South Dakota, which has a population of 14. It was designated a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark in 1967 as the Smallest County Seat in Texas."

Mentone, Tx?

a few years ago was coming back from taking the kids skiing at angel fire, driving down 285 through loving county. right after crossing the state line there lay the smoldering remnants of an old gas station. i stopped for a nature break, walked over and examined the remains. there were still little flames in a few spots, an old abandoned single-wide a few hundred feet back, and some old fallen-over cattle pen fences next to that. must have stood there for half an hour, nary a car passed, there was nothing in sight in any direction for miles on end.

i, for one, can't figure out what sorta unfortunate, loser settlers must have broken down in them parts on their way somewhere else. you know, somewhere with a single tree or maybe a drop of water.

Mentone, Tx?

I work a lot in that area. Usually closer to Orla than mentone but same general area. I have never had any problems but then again I never get more than a half mile or so from my base. So they are cutting your wires but not stealin anything? Strange.

Mentone, Tx?

Set up the cameras so they are not easily dicernable (which can be hard in desert terrain). Carry extra cables so you don't lose a complete days work. Once you capture the culprit on film, make the retribution brutal.

Blame it on a French Surveyor

He probably laid things out with a French curve.

From Wikipedia: Named after Menton, France by a French surveyor, present-day Mentone is actually the second such named community in Loving County; an earlier Mentone was founded south of the current town in 1893, but was abandoned in 1905. A second town on that site was called Juanita and then Porterville, but was deserted anew when Mentone was reestablished in 1931, with most residents moving to the new town. The town on the current site was named Ramsey before being renamed. During its heyday, Mentone boasted five cafes, five gas stations, two hotels, two drugstores, two recreation halls, two barbershops, a dance hall, a machine shop and a dry cleaner. It also had its own newspaper, the Mentone Monitor, which published from 1932 to 1935. After reaching a high population mark of approximately 600 residents in the 1930s, the population has declined ever since, and in 2000 there were only 15 people, "more or less", according to National Geographic magazine (the total population of Loving County itself (as of 2010) is 82.[4])

Um, that's the easy part; the hard part is getting them into the box first. :excruciating:

Blame it on a French Surveyor

I was born and bred in Mentone, Victoria, Australia.
A town with a population of 11,500 on the shores of Port Phillip Bay about 40km south of Melbourne.

Got a ton of projects around Orla too. I'd bet we're working on some of the same projects if your client rhymes with "Danny Darko".
