This past Saturday, I took a state specific in another state. I had meant to ask the licensing manager before I left the testing site, who was from the board, what the anticipated notification results would be- I didn't do that.
I emailed her on Tuesday asking the same question-expected to get an answer like 6-8 weeks and don't ask me again:-)
got a response back within 5 minutes and was told in the email that the notifications were mailed out the day before, on Monday,(2 days after the exam) and that I had passed.
really didn't expect that in an email. I will wait for the official letter before I jump for joy:-)
Altho I felt really good about the exam, I somehow think someone hacked her computer and was messing with me.+o(
does anyone else find this being really odd? anyone else ever found out that they passed before the "official" letter?
Not me but
a friend had taken the PE exam and was waiting for the results. I was verifying licensure for a job applicant and while I was on the BOR website I checked under my friends name. Sure enough he had passed and they showed his license number. I'm the one who notified him. Needless to say he wasn't worth a toot the rest of the day.

I guess I am just freaking about the whole thing. and actually, I guess you can find out before the official letter.
I was at the TBPLS board meeting in December where they accepted the newly licensed RPLS's to the roster. one of them was a co-worker. so I knew before she did.
Congrats.
North Dakota was interesting. After I finished the test, I sat in the couch in the outer office and in about 30 minutes found out I had passed and walked out the door with my license, signed and suitable for framing.

Some would say I haven't been worth a toot since the day I received notification that I had passed the P.E. exam.:-P
Everyone who succeeds with the State-level exams deserves to be commended for all of the hard work and study they put in. The entire process is intended to be challenging and demanding. Many start on that path but far fewer get to where they are headed. And, once they get there, they are reminded by the naysayers that they have now proven they have achieved the 'minimum' standards for licensure. I've never heard of any 'maximums' but some like to degrade those who achieve such status so as to make themselves feel better. They are to be pitied.

NY wasn't as nice for the PE exam. I got a letter from them, opened it, and the first thing I saw was a form to fill out to retake the test. After I unfolded it, I found that I had passed.

Well I guess I should have just went to the board site first.
Looks like I'm good! License # 22895 - pending - reason- issuance of license.
guess its gotta be signed and sealed!
I have found out unofficially before. It sure takes the anxiety out of waiting. I won't go into specifics, but was thankful because of the situation. The Board in question was top notch in every aspect of communication and handling of the application process.
I passed the Utah exam in 2000. They kept fiddling with the forms for experience so I didn't submit until September 2001. I shipped it overnight on the 10th. We all know what happened the next day.
I waited almost two weeks before the worry prompted me to call. My package had in fact made it to them the morning of the 11th. It was approved the 14th. The letter came a month or so later...

Congratulations. The waiting never gets easier...

That's the way it went for me in Oklahoma. I wrote the test at the board office in OKC. By the time I got back to the office in Norman (20 minutes +/-) the results were in my email.
It was a 50 question multiple guess exam. No subjectivity as to right or wrong answers.
When I passed the Texas exam, the TBPLS posted on their website who all passed the exam, then maybe a week or less I got the letter in the mail saying I passed. I heard when they start to use the computer test, you will know after you answer the last question if you passed. I doubt that since they will still need to review the exam and questions.
Not Odd To Find Out, I Did
I got a notification of my scores from NCEES long before I got a letter from the State Board. Getting a passing score is far different from being accepted by the Board as a Surveyor. The latter requires official board action.
Also I was on the State website confirming something else and found out my son had passed before he did.
Paul in PA
Arizona was the same.
Don't waIt. START JUMPING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!

One of the usual requirements for practice is that your license be on display in your office.
