GPS job in a fantastic place this summer - Denali National Park. Great for entry level Geomatic students, new surveyors. Doesn't get much easier than driving the 90 mile road hop out, recover and run OPUS on 1968 Coastal Geodetic Service monuments. Want to know more, message me thru my profile.

I am in a two year program so I wouldn't qualify. The position is obviously temporary. I assume it is also part-time?

Mav1958,
I just read your Bio. You should still apply w your experience. This is a benchmark recovery project.
The position is full-time. This summer.

Have you contacted the University of Alaska Geomatics program to post the position to their students? I don't see the need to look outside to fill the position.
Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
I have a Bio? Sweet! 😉
GISJoel, thanks for the encouragement!
No room for retirees? In my career I have worked in 49 of the fifty states as well as a few foreign countries. I have not yet made it to Alaska.
Running one of those modern receivers is hardly as challenging as the old AOA Turbo Rogue...
How much recon was performed during this survey: https://www.ngs.noaa.gov/web/science_edu/webinar_series/Denali_Summit.shtml
Cheers,

USC&GS
DMM,Nate,
Your experience is most welcome at any time. Denali is great visit and to think USC&GS was there in 1968 setting control along the whole road into the park. Look at OPUS shared right now, and you will see we have a ways to go.
When you get to Alaska this summer (timing is perfect to plan now), swing by my office and I can arrange at least a visit with the new hire.
Williwaw - Yes, job is posted at all local universities (UAA, UAF, Juneau).
