One of the greatest song reviews of all time;
"these morons have gone too far"
Richard Berry wrote and recorded the song originally, since then it's been covered by dozens of groups.?ÿ
His version isn't the one you think of.
The group that made it a monster hit consisted of some kids in Portland, they recorded it with the microphone up at near the ceiling to get that "special live sound". Possibly they were drunk, rumor has it that the drummer dropped a stick and then an F-bomb you can just barely make something out, the singer started singing on the wrong measure, stopped then continued, and possibly another band member fell down near the end.?ÿ
The recording made it to a local disc jockey who played it as the worst song of the week, from there it's history, the song became #1 or 2 for weeks, the band became famous, the lead singer got drafted and had to leave shortly after.?ÿ
The original is a beautiful song and you can understand the lyrics perfectly. Worth a listen:

This is the one we all know and love:
The FBI investigated the song, Bobby Kennedy and J. Edgar on the case.
LOL just imagine.?ÿ

I get distracted way too easy if music is on so I gotta work in pure, awkward silence.?ÿ ?????ÿ
Or, for a change of pace;
OR, for the Hillbillys among us;
Or if you have trouble "starting up" in the morning. Slurp down 24 oz. of 7-11 coffee while listening to this. (Warning: you will have to pee after 30 minutes.)
@flga-2
The gent on the left looks too much like me to not be a relative.
Santa was the father of both?
@flga-2 They can both play pretty good fiddle.?ÿ Thanks.

@flga-2
I'd have never heard it without knowing to listen for it,?ÿ but I believe that f-bomb in the background is between 0:50 & 0:55 in the version of Louie Louie by the Kingston in the OP.
That's what I'm hearing too at the same spot......
It's hard not to chuckle at least a little.?ÿ

I'm surprised I had never heard of the group or Jenny. Very skilled fiddler and not bound to a particular musical culture. In another video she plays a familiar old-time fiddle favorite, Elzic's Farewell, but in a different style than I'd heard it, a trick which always fascinates me.

These guys have good sound, too:
That gent with the beard also appears in this, which is possibly one of the greatest live performances of all time:
