I see that the GLO Records site is down (but I don't use it very often)

https://glorecords.blm.gov/

It does come in handy from time to time though.

GLO Records website is and has been down since at least Friday.

I have a BLM email address (don't ask 🙂 ) and haven't heard a peep about the outage.

I tried blm.gov and get a 404 error.

State offices might work.

This site is such a great resource. Just now went to look for GLO patents and the site was down. "What the goll dern heck is going on?" I muttered. "Do I have a cotton pickin' old link or what?"

Just go to surveyorconnect and find out that it isn't my ineptitude after all.

Okay Dave, it is projected that things will get back to normal beginning sometime today. The BLM National Data Center had a catastrophic power component failure on October 7th. I didn't equate that to GLO Records being down as it wasn't listed among the sites impacted by that. In a follow-up, it appears that a temporary uninterruptible power supply first needs to be installed (perhaps today 'cause yesterday was a federal holiday) before restoring "the services of specific mission-essential applications and key services identified by leadership."

In other words, don't get your shorts in a knot 'cause that won't help. It will be back sometime (maybe soon)! 🙂

Somehow I knew my comment "maybe soon" would be the operative phrase.

GLO Records is up now. 🙂

I've been disappointed with updates for California.?ÿ The most recent surveys they have posted are from 2018.?ÿ No recent?ÿ updates in 3 years, and when will they get the scanned field notes uploaded like Nevada.?ÿ But overall I'm happy the research is generally available.

This notice was sent out this afternoon. For anyone wishing to do research on the GLO Records website, sooner is better unless you can wait until after next week.

Full-service restoration will require additional data center/application downtime later this week and/or weekend, so please pay special attention to future notices as we communicate these planned outages.

Full-services restoration is anticipated the week of 18 October.

The time frame of full incident resolution (i.e., emergency/temporary uninterruptible power supply (UPS) replaced with new UPS system) is still unknown.

ETA: I forgot to explain that this notice is for the National Data Center and associated applications. GLO Records is one of the applications that will be impacted by the restoration efforts.

Looks like the site is down again today. Anyone know of a timeframe for a fix?
