Bibg Maps appear to be far superior to Google Maps. Check out the same volleyball field on both. You can even see the net on Bing Maps. Right click on open both in New Tabs and toggle between them to see the difference

Just the opposite here Perry, Goggle has new imagery from last fall that is excellent.
Jim
It goes back and forth here between the two; but the "Bird's Eye View" on Bing rocks.
If you have Google Express Pro, you will have the best
resolution and the best print of the most recent
color aerial photography.
I can readily georeference google maps into my Civil 3D session. Can I also do it with Bing maps?
Thank you.
Not in the areas I'm in... Google is far superior.
I'm in the Google camp.
Bing just frustrates the heck out of me every time I try to use it.

One plus for Google, precision with which Google has georeferenced their images is excellent around here.
The picture below is a GPS control point inserted into Google Earth through Leica Geo Office. The disc is set near the SW of a concrete wall surounding a subway vent at the corner of M Street and New Jersey Ave. Its position in the picture is probably accurate to about a foot.

I prefer Bing Maps, but I note that often when I rotate in Bird's Eye the aerial obviously changes between different years. Same site, but East will show a vacant lot and South will be a building and parking lot.
Bing server is a lot slower than that of Google.
> Neither and both.
> Updates are not uniform in either, so depending on intended use will check both.
> Nice to have more than one choice.
Exactly my feelings as well, but my first check goes to google. I LOVE the street view.

Did you/do you pay a fee for the Express Pro? I know there is a fee with some of the google apps. I have considered seriously paying for it at least one time to see the difference. What are your thoughts? I did find this link for Google Earth Pro. It looks like there are some major differences between bland and pro.
Bing, where they have the oblique photos, is outstanding. Otherwise, I too find that it is hit and miss as to which is better.
In our little corner of Montana we were suprised to see new aerials in Google recently - apparently taken in late September of 2012. The resolution is quite good - I would say less than half meter. Oh, and get this - one of our crew members was looking at potential hunting spots in Google Earth and actually found an elk in the timber... pretty cool, eh?
I certainly like both, but am a little partial to Google as I absolutly LOVE the Google Earth export function in TBC!!!! (Are any of you using this feature?)
FWIW, I have also found that the browser makes a big difference.
For example, I've found that Google street view works much quicker in Mozilla Firefox than it does in Windows IE.
It all seems fast after having dial-up up until a month ago.
