Like anybody/everybody else, I'm cost conscience about things these days, especially when it comes to equipment and repair. My Schonstedt 52 has been acting freaky lately and I just don't have the $300+ laying around to have it looked at at the factory, and then possibly even more to fix...

So, I see in the latest industry mag (3 letters) an ad for Atlas Electronics in Dallas that will repair "ALL magnetic pin locators for a low price of $175" I just wonder if anybody here had dealt with them and if was a good experience. The add also states "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed..." Sounds like a good alternative to me. I'm not knocking Schonstedt, but really I need watch my dollars and cents these days.

Carl

Plus one on the service being what they advertise it to be. I've been satisfied with the work they did on my 52.

Dave, that's kinda funny being that you could probably drive to Kearneysville.

Thanks for the recommendation though. Sending it out today.

Never heard of them...have always taken my broken toys to MidWest for repairs.

But I'll check them out the next time my magic wand needs repair.

They replaced a screen on my data collector a few months ago.
Fast, cheap, quality work...I will use them again.

Don't know about that company. The problem with the places that do flat rates is that it is that flat rate whether it costs that much to fix or not. At our shop we give free estimates on repairs. 90 percent of the time it's under $100. If not, then using a flat rate place may be more beneficial then sending the instrument back to the factory.

Carl - ATLAS ELECTRONICS in Dallas - Schonstedt repair?

I have always used Diaz and Diaz

They will fix / repair your Schons (pin finder) for $150

I have sent them 5 different pin finders (ga52's) over the last 6-7 years, each time I was pleased.

I also sent one to Diaz & Diaz. Besides not working, my Schoenstadt was falling apart. It came back very nice.
