I have a stand alone license of TBC that uses a USB dongle. Does anyone know if I can use it on more than 1 computer? I currently use it on a laptop but it would be nice to be able to use it on my desktop when the laptop is in the field.

You can use TBC without the dongle but have very limited use without the dongle. You can switch or move the dongle to the other computer to get the functionality. I don't believe it is computer specific (hence of the dongle).
That's what I thought but it doesn't seem to be working with the machine I have the dongle plugged into. I'll have to wait until our Trimble rep gets back to me.
You can install it on any computer you want and you can use the dongle on any computer you want. The license stipulation is that a single license can only be in use on one PC at any given time but it doesn't matter what PC.
there are two things you need to check:
1) Make sure that the computer sees the dongle and has the drivers installed before you start TBC;
2) Make sure you're not running a newer version than your license supports.

Have you tried a different USB port? I have 5 on m machine and 2 of them are bad.
When I first bought TBC a couple of years ago I had a nightmare of a time getting the dongle recognized. Lots of back-and-forth with Trimble tech support, including some direct interaction with one of the programmers, but they finally got it working and it's been fine since.
I had v2.40 on the computer I was trying it on. Right now I'm downloading the newest version so maybe that was the issue. My computer seems to recognize the dongle.

I have had to restart TBC after I plugged in the Dongle to get the program to have full functionality!
Why infect another machine?
