Ideally,?ÿI am looking for something with character & a story that my wife will also approve. ?ÿNew. ?ÿOld. ?ÿSturdy. ?ÿReliable. ?ÿTime to replace my office desk chair. ?ÿI am posting this under CADD because well this is what we are often doing while we are sitting, right?

What do you use?

What do you recommend?

?ÿ

Tempur-Pedic Model TP9000 Ergonomic Mesh Mid-back Office Chair

I lucked out and got two new in box for less than the price of one from a little ole' lady in Florida.

Most comfortable office chair I've ever sat in.

My only wish is that they had a leg rest so I could recline in them.

I don't have any specific recommendation except to get a "task chair" for working at the computer and not an "executive chair". Executive chairs are for talking on the phone.?ÿ And, just generally, money spent on a good chair is money well spent.?ÿ ?ÿ

I spent some fairly big bucks on Steelcase chairs for my office.?ÿ ?ÿand it was worth every penny.?ÿ I'm still in it after 14 years and don't get tired from it on long boring CAD days.?ÿ?ÿ

That is the same chair we use here and has been the best so far.?ÿ ?ÿPricey but worth the bucks if your butt sits in it all day.

I think I have the T8000.?ÿ Super comfy even for long periods.?ÿ Sometimes I think I want more lumbar support as the mesh doesn't push back really hard, but 95% of the time I am super happy with it.?ÿ Like you I lucked out and hit a sale at staples and got $100 off ea when I got 2 of them.?ÿ Best chair I have ever had.?ÿ I do leave the arms off though so I can pull up under the desk more - but I do that will all of my chairs.

?ÿ

Check out this site. Most office chairs do not come up high enough. I?ÿfeel like my key board is actually a chin rest. And being a "Big Boy" it's hard to find a chair that is comfortable and doesn't slowly sink down from time to time.

I got the Omega chair and am VERY pleased with it,?ÿ VERY comfortable and I an in it 8-10 hours a day with no problems. Mine came with a headrest pillow and a lumbar support.

?ÿ

In stock chairs arrive in about a week. Assembly is fairly easy - you may need help attaching the back to the seat, both are thickly padded and you have to work around that. This is the best computer chair I have run across in my MANY years as a drafter.

The every day office chair is designed for less than 200lb of pressure and just sitting down heavily can max that out and over time they will not hold position.

There are replacement pedistal pistons to fix that and still the seat will not remain sturdy and get packed to a hard lumpy shape.

Best to upgrade to a quality chair that will hold more and better designed and not tip over when you reach down to pick up something off the floor.

The web backing is some real comfort on the lower back regions and a thicker seating area is a plus.
