Hi
I was wondering if anyone had any updates for those of us who thought this procuct looked like a good idea, and then promptly forgot all about it.
Are you poking holes in your paper or breaking pencils?
I haven't had much of a chance to use mine except just playing with it here in my office. As for the functionality, I like it.
In reference to the company, I am not sure yet. I discovered today when I was paying bills that they double billed my Credit Card. They will be receiving a phone call first thing in the morning.
I realize mistakes happen but when someone else makes a mistake and it cost ME money, I get a little pissed.
I will let you know.
James
i like it
it takes a little getting used to, but i have drawn some decent boxes
i think the field book paper is too thick, but the rite in the rain laser paper works just fine.
i will have to have to take a look at the cc bill in the morning.
I sent an email, I called and left a message, I called and keyed in the extension number for 3 different people and also for sales and for billing and left a message again.
Nobody Home!

bad credit card charge
Wow...that must make you boil even more. Hopefully they'll get back to you and make it good.
A quick tip: I have contested bad charges to my credit card in the past, and it has been quite effective. I have always gotten my money creditted back. The last time I had a problem with someone charging to my credit card an improper charge, I called them and they were very nice and said they would undo the charge. They didn't and I called them back (at least they answered the phone). I told them that I was about to contest the charge and she begged me not to. She said that they were legit, and would take care of it. She said that it costs them money when a charge is contested. Point is that even the threat got their attention. (If you haven't done this, you contest it through your card company. One company made me do it in writing, but another one let me do it by an email. They all apparently have their own rules.)
Sorry for getting off-topic/hijacking.
bad credit card charge
I recently notuiced something on our credit card that I did not recognize. I got to checking in to it and it was a discount club that you join when you make a pruchase, unless you opt out. SWMBO has ordered some small item from this company 14 months ago and charged it to our Discover Card. I called Discover and they imediately credit our account for the $9.95 for 14 months. Then they did 14 enquires to the company and made them credit our account. The also charged them for all 14 transactions. Discover tried to get me to call the company and straighten it out that way. I just asked them who was the better customer, me or some mail order company.
I just ordered one. That thing looks pretty cool, for $13 I'll try it out.

But Pseudo, how cool do they look for $26?
(Just kidding - Sorry JaRo, I just couldn't pass up the chance to needle you a bit)
I read that, and I'll have to keep on the credit card.
ours was charged correctly
CAD MAT-UPDATE
Chuck Haberstroh, the owner called me back later that day. He runs a printing business during the day and apparently takes care of this business when he gets the printing done. He seems to be a very nice man, maybe a little tired!
I followed up the next day with an email and got a response back that they had credited my account for the extra charge. I just took 3 more days for my credit card to show the credit online. It did show the date as being the 17th like I was told.
I would do business with them again.

I got mine Saturday and played with it a little bit at home. It's pretty good at keeping the pencil in a straight line, but will take some getting used to. I guess I'm going to field test it on Monday. It's a little more flimsy that I had pictured it, but I'm thinking about getting a new clipboard and sticking it to it.
BUMP - CAD MAT Revisited
Well, it lasted about 16 months in the field, but as I suspected, it's starting to crack and the corners break off. Still, a 16 month run isn't bad for all the knock and bumps field equipment takes. As far as it's usefulness, it is pretty nice for a solo guy like me.
For $13 each ($10 if you order 2 or more), I think it's worth it, and I will probably buy a couple more. I think this time I'm going to glue one to a clip board rather than letting to loose around the truck, and try that.
If the CAD MAT guys are listening, I'd suggest a CAD MAT Deluxe, made of thicker material. I'd pay more for that.
