Anyone ever use this GNSS?

I've not used it, but my son, who is also a surveyor, did. I can't give you the ins and outs of Emlid's weak points and strong but I can assure you that it is a legitimate survey-grade product.

I currently use old Trimble R-8 equipment.   It would be great if these work with Access.  The price is definitely right.

I would be very surprised if any non-Trimble gear worked with Access. Or if any non-Lieca gear worked with Captivate. Or any non-Topcon gear with Magnet.

those producing hardware and software are a jealous bunch and not monetarily interested in supporting others. Heck they don’t even support themselves after they introduce new merchandise.

Have been for 4 years. Purchased the new rs4 this January  and it is a game changer from the rs2

A fraction of the cost of the big guys and just as accurate. 

I have a non Trimble GPS unit that works with the Trimble DC that I use. However, it uses the company's app. You have to switch out of Access to use it. 

Lower cost GNSS units, if they have current components, likely give the same positioning as the main 2 brands Trimble and Leica. What costs less is the build quality and the capabilities of the software to use with it.  Trimble sells their lower quality Spectra Precision GNSS receivers, but my Trimble vendor doesn't recommend them because they are always in for repairs. I haven't had to send a Trimble device in for repairs, just typical calibration.

Some field software will accept a NMEA correction. I can get a fix using an Emlid RS2+ with SurvPC
