Hello everyone,

I have a Leica RX1250Tc controller (S/N 304196, Equipment No. 2328456) that lost its identity after the internal backup battery was completely drained and then replaced.

Current symptoms:
- Instrument type shows as GX1200 (should be RX1250TC)
- Serial number shows as 0
- Equipment number is blank
- SmartAntenna (ATX1230+ GNSS, S/N 193019) is not recognized
- SmartWorx and System Terminal apps appear in black & white
- ID Instrument field shows 4196 (entered manually)

What I have already tried:
- Reflashed official firmware (Rx1250_es.fw v9.02 + ME4_6112.fw v6.112) from CF card
- Complete CF card format from the RX itself (correct folder structure recreated)
- Tried loading license file L_304196.KEY via Security Options > Load File — hangs indefinitely
- Tried manual password entry in Security Options — error 475 wrong password
- Connected via Leica Tools on Windows PC — connects to antenna but cannot configure instrument identity

What I have:
- Original license file L_304196.KEY (readable, contains EquipmentNo 2328456, License for Instrument 304196, System 1200 + GLONASS)
- Original purchase documentation confirming all serial numbers
- Cable GEV234 (8-pin LEMO) but currently no USB-RS232 adapter
- Leica Geo Office installed on PC

I have read that Leica dealers have access to a recovery tool that can restore instrument identity. Unfortunately the official Leica service in my country no longer supports this equipment.

Has anyone successfully recovered a RX1250 from this state? Is there a way to write the serial number and instrument type back via LGO, WinCE registry editor, or any other method?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Gracias de antemano. Si podéis responder en español también se agradecería, pero en ingles también.

Saludos
