Why can't they all be so quick?

I tested in Frankfort today to obtain a KY Land Surveyor license. I received a call from the board at about 3:45 to inform me that I passed the exam. I know that you find out if you passed or failed immediately in GA. I had a long wait for VA results. I understand the wait for the NCEES P&P exam results but when there are less than 15-20 people in most cases sitting for state exams, why do they take so long to return results? Today's test in KY was hand graded, not scantron. If they can grade exams in 1 day, why can't others?

I applied in June to take the PA test (which is in about a month). Just last week, I received a letter saying they needed more information. I still don't know if they will even let me sit for the test. I am patiently waiting.

I'm sitting for Kansas test in Oct. Kansas was very good about keeping me posted through the approval process. They e-mailed me weekly on any questions they had. Went very smooth and was accepted in about 3 weeks. I'm not sure how fast results will come in.

I am also dealing with PA. I submitted my NCEES Record and they still asked for additional info! They are apparently notorious for that. A colleague mentioned the same thing when he applied to PA.

When I graded the test in Florida, I can tell you we graded them the week following the exam, then the psychometrics experts went over the results to find out which questions/answers were too tricky or invalid. Months later the results were announced.

Bruce

Were you grading the Florida tests in the late 90's when I got mine?

No, I left Florida in 1978 for the wilds of Arizona.

In the case with Virginia, the exams are graded and the sent to the board to review and confirm the results before notification is given to the applicants. I know it's tough waiting on the results but that's their system.

I applied to Georgia for the second time (denied the first time) on May 25 of this year. The third week of June I received an e-mail from the board stating that I was approved and to register with PPI exams, I did so and took the exam two weeks later and at the end of the exam the printer instantly printed out a paper with my picture on it that very uncerimoniously said "Pass".

I took the Kansas State Specific In Late November, 1992. I had my wall certificate in hand by December 15.

Arizona grades them while you wait. It took about 15 minutes for mine.
