I am because I hate holidays in the middle of the week, so we are working today to have a three-day weekend starting at beer thirty on Thursday evening.
Have a happy 4th guys!
No field work today. Just me doing a bunch of office work. It will be nearly 100F today and the evening event doesn't start until 7. Sitting in front of the air conditioner sounds like a REALLY good idea.
The garbagemen ae working here...both the recycling and trash trucks.
I did not think that they would be but I heard the trucks rolling so I had to scramble to get everything to the street which is not really much. 😐
We had that last summer. I'm quite glad we've only had about 6 days of triple digits since May this year.
I took last Thursday and Friday off to fly to Portland, making up for re-appropriated time.
I'm sitting here reading beerleg. Just like when I'm at work.
Does that count?
Started smoking the brisket and pork ribs about 3:30am. It will be done around 4pm.
Not survey work, but hot work just the same.

Remarked all the corners on a 12 acre hotel property this morning and complete my quarterly 941 taxes. Now off to spend the day with my wife's family
Doing a bunch of paperwork today.
With triple digit temps for the rest of the week, I may finish up this paperwork and take the rest of the week off.
Summer has barely started and I'm ready for fall.
Just another day that ends in "Y" !!

Hell no. It's too damn hot. We have my better 1/2's Daughter and Boyfriend visiting, along with my son. Caught some nice fish this am ( 2 Catfish 3,7 lbs, 18" Walleye, and some junk fish). Going to bbq some hot dogs, clean fish, BBQ fish and chicken tonight, then to the Fireworks Show. Hopefully squeeze in a nap between meals. lol

Yup. Work work work :computer:
Just got off. Our normal work week is 4 10's. It made more since for us to work today.
Just wrapped. Like having Canada Day and 4th so close together. Good excuse to BBQ twice in the same week.
Apple chips glowing, beer sweating. Oh my.
The daughter and I worked half the day. Been enjoying the pool for the last hour or so, then it's off to get in nine holes before dark.
Last Friday we had a power outage for a hour and a half. Well the accounting computer's video card crashed and the time clock lost all it's programing. Since the weather forecast was rain and thunder storms and I have been out in a boat more times than I like in thunder storms, I went to the office to fix the computer and time clock. My SWMBO builds computers for the house and office. However she did not have a video card to fit the machine. So off to Best Buy. New video card and drivers installed and 45 minutes reprograming the time clock and I was done for today.
still cutting & splitting firewood. Up to 20 cords so far with the new splitter so far. Vacation in 5 days though!!
We went into the field today....a day of cascading problems... so at 4:00 pm we decided to can it and flew back to Kotz
I know that you posted this yesterday (when I wasn't working) but today I am working.
Up at 5am to catch the low tide;
because, it's shellfish season!
I did get two Sea Clams (big quahog) about 6" long. the shells make nice 'plates' for stuffed quahogs, if you're looking for a meal. I prefer mine more at the appetizer size... 2"-3". Those Sea Clams are tough old buggers, but when you run them through the processor they come out edible...
Back home by 6:125, and in the office by 7 this morning. We're only allowed to shellfish on thursdays and sundays in my town. I'm considering getting a permit for next door, orleans, that is...better selection and they have steamer over there. Something Brewster lacks...but we have oysters in the fall...it's all a trade off...
Don
I took yesterday off.. today we are looking at new cars for my wife. I changed the message at my office to say we were closed until Monday Morning. Don't think I've ever done that, but what the hell, it's my executive decision. But I'll be working Friday and Saturday in the office to catch up on drafting without being bothered. hopefully!
