Well folks, today is my last day of work. I am retiring after 50 years. I always wondered if I would know it when the time came, and I did. I have had the most wonderful career imaginable, and have enjoyed ?ñ95% of it. (The other %5 was really not that bad...)

I'll probably hang around here and throw in my $0.02 from time to time, as no one else will listen to me.

Thanks for all the help and discussion from everyone, ESPECIALLY to Wendell and Angel, without who none of this would be possible!

?ÿ

Jim in AZ

For as long as I've been frequenting this place, I've always appreciated your succinct and practical take on whatever topic was at hand. Congratulations on your retirement and please continue to share your experience with us. Good health and smooth sailing! I'm sure you take with you much more than any gold watch could compete with.

Cheers! Willy

Congratulations. I have always appreciated your posts here. I plan to retire very soon myself after 45 years at this gig. It's been a career beyond my wildest expectations. I plan to stay active, but on my terms.

The standard "Honey, do" list makes surveying look very attractive in a rather short time, I have been told.

You can't be replaced here, but I hope you've trained a successor!

Happy retirement!

Congratulations!!?ÿ I've been retired for 5+ years now but I still like to stick my nose in to remind myself of the good (and occasional bad) times.?ÿ Surveying was certainly good to me for 40+ years.?ÿ I saw a little blurb on TV this morning showing a robot, that looked a lot like a dog, with a scanner mounted on the back that was doing "as-builts" on a construction site.?ÿ I have lived and worked from the age of transit and tape (chain) to laser scanning and robotics.?ÿ WOW.

Now find something that you and your wife enjoy and go for it.?ÿ My wife and I enjoy camping and plan to do a lot more.

Andy

Jim I retired 12/31/2019 just in time for quarantine. You are going to be amazed at how many things around the homestead that need fixing, just ask SWMBO.?ÿ

Congratulations and best of luck at Bingo and Shuffleboard. ?????ÿ
