Was found during an Improvement survey plat operation.

Upon finding the monument(s) and ties, which would you be keeping for your final drawing?

The spikes are ties to the older pipe, the office guy?ÿ ?ÿ (not an

?ÿ

LS) said he only wanted the shiny cap with recent date.

Hmmm.

Pipe matched the SW corner pipe Found and yeah, there's that. No matching shiny cap though.

Definitely always tie everything you find.?ÿ I'm guessing the LS will override the "office guy".

This pin cushion is from the SAME surveyor! ! !

The top rebar and cap is angled in the ground so the center is over the lower rebar and cap !?ÿ

As an update, this picture is from 2016. The crew went back later to set some concrete monuments as requested by the client and found this same situation at another corner, but one rebar and cap was a couple of inches below the surface !?ÿ

TLDR: Goal is to set one property corner. Weather delays ensue. Set new corner near existing iron pin.?ÿ

?ÿ

It's funny you post this...rant to follow

I recently worked on a small boundary survey for a good client of ours and today I sent a crew over to set one corner that was not recovered during our initial site visit. The crew arrives onsite and tries to set the corner but is struggling because "the GPS isn't giving good residuals and it's near a tall building". So, I had sent the crew ALL of the boundary corners that we DID recover, so I suggest occupying a couple of those corners with their conventional equipment to set the "missing" corner. His reply is, "ok, we'll do that".

A few minutes pass and I'm notified that "it's not raining but there is lightning in the area so they're in the truck". Fine, don't die setting one property corner.

An hour or so passes and I get back to check my work cell phone and there are messages about rain and lightning but then the last message reads, "We got that corner set but found a 3/8" iron rod about 0.2' away from the corner we set so I tied it down too."

Are you kidding me?!?! Nooooooo!

I'm now working on getting a crew over there to PULL the pin this crew set. Ugh!
