Just got back from a land lease survey down the Alaska Peninsula ...heres some field pics...
Good to be back in the field.
Bucket-O-Nuckles sounds tempting...great pic's as usual...
Thanks for the pics
Nice camphouse, a person would be in big trouble if they didn't like pork.
😉
Stupendelicious!
One of these years I'll have to get up there.
The menu implies it may be a good place to pig out at.
Amazing place.
What is the animal that wasn't what your initial thoughts were.
An odd looking thing, nice colouring.
I'm wondering if it'd stink though?

Its a Porcupine .... I don't think they stink but you certainly wouldn't want to hug one ...

Thanks.
That looks drastic! Is that animal inflicted? Painful!
We have Echidnas here, and whilst a mass of spikes wouldn't bother you, more the opposite.
They'd dig their way downwards into the ground or scuttle off into the scrub
Good to have you back.
Outstanding in someone else's field.
Thanks Daryl - beautiful pics! That is one damn big bear in that photo!!
Is that an early version of a Botox treatment?
Great pics and scenery,
Great you're back in the field ... was already wondering if you had some bad bear experience!
Christof.
Consider posting some of your avian photos on FB 'Birds of Alaska'. I wasn't familiar with that one so I posted to get an ID. Rock Sandpiper. Nice photos. Thanks for sharing.

Just because I'm paranoid, doesn't mean they aren't out to get me.
