I'll pass. That's the dumbest set of specifications I've seen in a while. The site is 0.6 acres, but has 22 parking spaces, and they don't need to be shown. You do, however, need to show wetlands.

Pretty strange location information. I don't find a Sheboygan, MN in a quick search and the text at the link says it is in Sheboygan, Wisconsin.

I didn't read all of that. Does that thing violate the Brooks Act?

4. Records Research - It is recognized that for the performance of an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey, the surveyor will be provided with appropriate data which can be relied upon in the preparation of the survey. The request for an ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey shall set forth the current record description of the property to be surveyed or, in the case of an original survey, the current record description of the parent parcel that contains the property to be surveyed. Complete copies of the most recent title commitment, the current record description of the property to be surveyed (or, in the case of an original survey, the parent parcel), the current record descriptions of adjoiners, any record easements benefiting the property, the record easements or servitudes and covenants burdening the property (all hereinafter referred to collectively as "Record Documents"), documents of record referred to in the Record Documents, documents necessary to ascertain, if possible, the junior/senior relationship pursuant to Section 6.B.vii. below, and any other documents containing desired appropriate information affecting the property being surveyed, and to which the ALTA/ACSM Land Title Survey shall make reference, shall be provided to the surveyor for use in conducting the survey. Reference is made to Section 3.B. above.

Government agencies don't have to do this? Just give you a copy of the "legal description" and a few Table "A" items and you are off to the races????
Is this one of those often requested "Standard" ALTA's that I keep hearing about?
Why even bother with this mess anymore? Just ask for a survey that meets that state's Minimum Technical Standards and be done with it.
This kind of "ALTA" means nothing.

I wouldn't even give them the satisfaction of submitting a reply to this RFP until these people can get it through their heads that WE ARE NOT CONTRACTORS. A lot of garbage about certain requirements to do with contractor requirements and meeting lots of contractor certifications.

USS Cheboygan County (LST-533)

Reminds me of a ship I rode before putting the Clark County LST 601 back into commission, Clark county was one of those ships that kept the crew alert. Put a deck load aboard her of utility boats with fire trucks loaded in them at Charleston to be delivered to RVN, no cargo in the tank deck, it was to be loaded in San Diego, boy did she roll on that trip. Also rode the Harnett County LST 821 for a year. Liked the Amphib and the Brown Water Navy much better than the Cruiser-Destroyer Navy I served my first enlistment in.

This is Sheboygan, WI and it's in my neck of the woods, matter of fact, I completed a survey across the street from here a few months back.

However.............

35 Pages of mumbo jumbo to complete an ALTA on a small lot? Trying not to turn this into P&R, but is this necessary?

I assume some of you do federal work on a routine basis. Is this common?

It would take me 3 hours just to read through the yada yada pages just to know what pertains to completing the survey?

Yes it is common. Price the job well enough so that you will get paid for reading all of that nonsense.

Holy crap, Batman! Sheboyan is sort of the anti-Sedona. Must be the long winters combined with something in the water. Could be a concentration of Norwegians, too.
