Need a survey in Lake County, Oregon. Subdividing 10 acres out of a 110 acre parcel. Need a stamped survey for the county to apply for the variance and the subdivision. If this is you or you know someone please get in touch. Thank you.
I don't know anybody from Lake County, but from the County's website:
".... Lake County covers 8,275 square miles and has an estimated population of 8,130 residents. ..."
Also from the county's website,
It is quite possible that Mr. Anderson is the only surveyor resident in a county of that size. If not him then you are likely hiring somebody out of Medford or Klamath Falls to make the drive.
Yeah I know. My plan is to get licensed in Oregon and run for Lake county surveyor myself. Talked to his office today. They are booking 6 months out. Do you know me well enough to be one of my 5 references for an oregon license?
5 references? What the heck
I'm licensed for over 25 years, in 3 states, and I don't even know if I currently know that many other licensees well enough
@jph When I got my OR, only three of those five had to be licensed, the others just knew you work well enough to vouch for you, but that was 08, so I'm sure things have changed.
Norman didn't mention someone from Bend could also trek out there, and when I was living at my uncle's place that was just into Lake County along US 20 from Bend, I applied and interviewed with someone whose office was in Lakeview, don't remember if it was Mr. Anderson, though. If there's anyone in Northern NV that might also be registered in OR is a possibility too.
Before anyone asks, I let my OR lapse when I moved to AK and now I'm in AZ and about ready to say, screw this, I'm done and start enjoying some of the reasons that I chose to buy in Sun City.
Try the Rhine Cross group in Klamath Falls. Ask for Keith.
They are booking 6 months out.
I'd presume, then, that they are hiring. Why wait?

that's standard for all places I've been looking to potentially move or get licensed for. 3 have to be surveyors usually and the other two probably are expected to be engineers...just a guess.
It is much easier to apply to the different states for licensure if you have an up-to-date NCEES record. When you get ready to have it transmitted to the newly desired state, just update the references and your employment history, hit transmit and your done. It is also a blessing when you keep your CE record up-to-date and get audited by the board. It's a time saver for sure.
Stepping off of the soap box now... Have a great weekend!
true, unless anyone dies in the following year or beyond.
the lack of perpetual value in the NCEES record is what bugs
me
my people are old and dying. I'm racing and have no way to go any faster for a few years. so it goes.
Absolutely have a great weekend, planting the garden!

Yeah really. I kind of accidentally lucked out... I worked for a bigger engineering outfit after school and was able to meet and work with enough surveyors there that when the application time came I had enough guys to sign for me. I could see LSITs at smaller outfits being boned.
Unless one moves around a bit in the early years, this could be really tough.

I am also booked up for the next six months.
