I am 6'7" and my Son is 6'9". That very very tall tripod is intriguing.

It came in handy a few times. It was really heavy and the bottom set of legs came off. So it was two bags and a ladder to lug around. I think they were made by seco.
That super-pod is impressive! Looks like 2 sets joined together. It appears to pop off the shoes on one and use the lower legs of the second as an extension. Never thought about using it that way. Thanks! Now I can rebuilt some old pods with a new twist. Could make one awesome backsight/foresite!
It basically was 2 sets of legs. The top set didn't come with the feet on them.
I am very familiar with the railroad in West Brownsville as it is about a 15 minute drive from where I live and work. Also, I was involved with the sewage project they just did about 2 years ago in the same town. Small world.
Those we from about a year and a half ago. Some of the people were still getting their service lines hoojed up.
I picturing Perry Williams wanting to straddle that tripod over an 8' fence and wanting to climb over it
Great pictures, thank you.
The wooden cross at the bottom of the trench, filled with water. Was that where they buried the last surveyor? Just kiddin'. Loved the pictures. You work in some interesting places!
great pictures,

Your first post was all trimble gear, the second all leica, when did you do the switch and why ?
I've always been a Trimble fan I am most comfortable with their software, so if I had my choice it would be Trimble all the way. With that said, I got to choose the equipment I wanted at my current job. All of the first pics were from my current job and thus are all Trimble. The pics with the Leica HDS 3000, were from when I was with a firm in South Florida. The funny thing is that they were an all Topcon shop, but went with the Leica scanner because it was the best on the market at that the time. The pics showing the Leica survey equipment are from my last job and they were an all Leica shop.
