Inexpensive of course!
Thanks
I've been looking too, Keith. I don't think there is one yet. I've searched the App Store many times. If you find one please let me know.

The aps store has a civil engineer program, but does not appear to be what I want. Just want a simple bearing and distance traverse "sheet"!
Just an idea, but there must be some progammers out there looking for work that could work with Apple and make some money.
I am assuming that most of their aps come this way.
Keith
I'm looking for the same for Android......
I'm your huckleberry.
My neighbor asked me about writing apps for these things.
I'm going to do some research about it this afternoon.

I just registered as an Apple developer. The developer toolkit is downloading now - all 3.2Gig worth of it. I wonder if it will even run on this XP machine. I have my doubts.

I would think this is right up your alley!
A program using bearings and distances and computes acreage is what I am looking for.
Apple should pay you millions for it!!
Keith
Might need a iPad?
Really slick machine!!
Might need one to play with to design software?

Might need a iPad?
I wondered about that as well. The SDK should have an emulator for testing. My regular Windows SDK toolkit (Visual STudio) has emulator for stuff like the JettCE data collector (WinCE) environment that I have used.
Might need a iPad?
as an alternative, runs even on an old xp laptop

Spreadsheet?
For a simple traverse one might be able to write or get written a spreadsheet.
Adding area by DMD would not be hard. Having any kind of adjustment would be a little more difficult.
If the thing would import an excel sheet it would also help as more people have such things on the PC.
Another thing would be to investigate the capabilities of a number of the CAD applications that apparently exist on the ipad.
Spreadsheet?
I found an APP on Itunes that is an HP 41 CX Emlator complete with modules. I have not downloaded it yet, but plan to soon. I would like to find a basic CAD package for the Ipad.
Here is a link to another HP 41 Emlator. http://www.gsmfiles.info/i41cx-rpn-calculator-with-printer-2-1-iphone-and-ipod-touch/ for the Iphone and Ipod Touch.

The last time i used an HP was the 33E, back in the '80s, so i'm not up-to-date on the various HPs since then. How does the HP42 compare with the HP41? Reason i ask is there's a multi-platform Free HP 42S simulator, originally developed by Thomas Okken and extended to work with Copan PTS files.

Try Jared Judd at this website. You can message him to see if an iPad version is coming out. I have it on my iPhone.
Thanks guys, I guess I will keep looking for the easy to use bearing and distance and area program.
I really don't want to get out my old sin/cos book and do the DMD.
Keith
Hey, I think I found it
It is "Metes and Bound Pro" Sandy Knoll software,LLC and it is for the iPad.
Seems like a simple enough program to use bearings and distances and acreage.
