A first for me today! I located an Energy Vortex that the client wanted on the septic plan. I'm not sure who delineated it, but we picked up a half dozen flags that covered 300 SQ FT area near the proposed house. Apparently, the area must be left undisturbed or something bad will happen. I wonder who certifies vortex delineators?

I'm a bit surprised that you are letting Feng Sui Surveying slip from your grasp like this, particularly since most boundary surveys in New Hampshire are priced at $0.10 per l.f. or less. Locating and mapping energy vortices (or, if you want to go all legalistic: "apparent energy vortices") might just be your ticket to the bigtime.

Shoulda used the sarcasm font on that, but I am not above making a buck on hocus-pocus; just hard for me to keep a straight face. Speaking of hocus pocus, we also located a dowsed well location. Luckily the dowser met the minimum setbacks and didn't find water where we needed to put the leach field.

Hold on! You've let the dowsing market slip away from you, too? That's just, well, sad. Now, if you want to get ahead of the curve, why not advertise mapping Ley Lines? Rich Leu will have the details on that.

Kent, you're on to something! Thinking of becoming a licensed Dodman.
The 'inventor' of ley lines, Alfred Watkins, thought that in the words "dodman" and the builder's "hod" there was a survival of an ancient British term for a surveyor. Watkins felt that the name came about because the snail's two horns resembled a surveyor's two surveying rods. Watkins also supported this idea with an etymology from 'doddering ' along and 'dodge' (akin, in his mind, to the series of actions a surveyor would carry out in moving his rod back and forth until it accurately lined up with another one as a backsight or foresight) and the Welsh verb 'dodi' meaning to lay or place. He thus decided that The Long Man of Wilmington was an image of an ancient surveyor.

Perhaps in San Francisco
I know a little about wind pressure. Just enough to be dangerous. I've been told that for many years now the City of San Francisco requires wind pressure studies to be performed as part of the building permit application. Apparently, the high winds being channeled between existing buildings can create some amazing wind pressures in the downtown area. I could see a need for those predicted pressure maps to be shown on the boundary map being used for the permit application.

Mt. Lafayette is the peak in the Clouds with Mt Lincoln just to the right. The pointy peak of Mt Garfield is visible to the left of the tree and the slopes of Cannon Mountain are righting up to the right in the pic.
